Great people, outstanding haircut. First timer, but it won't be my last time! I went on the advice of a friend who has been going to Pinnokios for years. Not everyone can cut short hair, but Tina can! I can see why she has such a loyal following.

I went to Pinnokios for the first time about a month ago. I was skeptical at first but Meghan was great, she did exactly what I wanted to my hair after taking time to discuss and figure out what it was that I wanted. I thought the price was extremely modest after I had done a bit of shopping around as well, and she gave me a week to come back and have something else done for free if I wasn't completely satisfied for some reason. I will certainly be back.

I've been trying to find a good salon for months, and I gotta say, I love this place. The atmosphere is kinda cool, though it was a little disorienting at first that the reception desk is at the back of the shop. My stylist was Megan, and she was great. She didn't put anything into my hair without explaining what it was and what it did. I think I've finally found my go-to salon.

I am going to start with the positives. I love the location and the feel of the shop. I even liked the personalities within. That was a good experience. The 4 that I met there were very personable. I was referred to go to this area because I like more of a funky style and enjoy many color options. However, my actual cut and color experience were very poor. I usually do not make reviews but after paying 150.00 dollars for a cut and color change and being uphappy with both, I feel that I have to speak. The color: I went in because I wanted to go back to my natural color after a long time of dark and funky purples/reds etc highlighting. I let the roots grow out to make the match easier. When we did the color remover for the rest it leaves the natural color untouched and it was a strip of very light hair, and that should have been acknowledged. She didnt even bring over strips of samples to try to match anything up. If my natural was dark, it would have been a dark strip when this process was done. The color that I left with was very dark which was not my natural lighter color. I was argued with, politely, but still argued with when i stated this was the wrong color. She offered to have me come in and correct it, which I thought was good business, so I agreed. I came in and did another color stripping. And I asked what color was going to be put on and what was shown was still rather dark. So I decided to just leave after the color removal process which left it lighter, not what i was looking for but overall not a bad color. I am still going to have to go elsewhere when it starts to grow out. The cut: I had example picture of what I was trying to go for. Longer angled front and very short in the back. The cut was completed as a razor cut, which i agreed to out of ignorance. A stylist I had before used a razor but only on certain sections. The front looked odd and very thin afterwards and the back felt not even. It didn't really resemble the look I was going for and I had the length to work with. Last night I went to another salon because I just wanted the rest cut off. The lady there took the time to study my hair (which I did not see at Pinnokios) and made educational comments about how it wasn't cut according to how it grew and the razoring on my kind of hair (fine) shouldn't have been done all over my head because it leaves it with little to be done after the fact. I did ask her in her professional opinion if it was a bad cut and she reluctantly stated that it was and she pointed out the reasons this was so, down to the hairline in the back not being even because it wasn't cut for my hair and wouldnt ever lay flat. I left that salon feeling educated on how to care for the style I recieved with options on what else could be done when it started to grow out. Conclusion: I enjoyed my time when I was at this salon. It does have a good energy. However, when someone is in a position for a very long time, they might feel that they don't have to do the small sets or pay attention to the detail because they might be confident in their skills. It would have been good to see a little more attention spent especially for how much that was paid.
