This place is perfect for a simplistic getaway, which is exactly what my husband and I came here for! The house itself is decorated like any generational southern family home, and makes you feel instantly welcomed. I fell in love with the window beds in the downstairs common room, and the kitchen is full of amenities that guests may use - as long as you bring your own food! Each room is named for the decorations and accents inside, and each have superbly comfortable beds and windows that offer wonderful natural lighting. We stayed in the Blue Room. The jacuzzi tub rocks! Wish it were big enough for two, considering it is the usual "honeymoon" room. It is within perfect walking distance of many uptown clubs and fine dining!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary getaway at Bailey's! Our stay was relaxed and romantic. We stayed in the Blue Room, walked to our dinner reservation at Avanti's and enjoyed a full breakfast on Sunday morning with another couple. Although we live in North DFW, Bailey's allowed us to enjoy Uptown and focus on each other. Andrea is devoted to customer satisfaction and went out of her way to ensure that we will return soon! If you're considering a B&B in DFW make sure you consider Bailey's!

A++++ What a majestic place to stay! A minute's walk from bars and restaurants! The owners want your stay to be as wonderful as you do! They go above and beyond to make it perfect! Close, intimate and clean! I loved the fact that every room was furnished in antiques, it was absolutely amazing! It's worth every penny! Talk about an experience! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

I stayed here for 3 nights while on business travel during a major medical meeting happening at the Dallas Convention Center. In short, Bailey's is a lovely, stately B&B in a great location, as noted in other reviews. It's within walking distance of several eateries and bars, and some other interesting-looking shops and other attractions. Inside, it's immaculate--a huge plus. I do a lot of travel and this is definitely not always the case. So, big thumbs up there. And it's really nicely appointed throughout--gleaming hard wood floors, stylish furniture and an elegant feel. The bed was decent and clean. And if I were needing a car port, that would have been fantastic, too, as a means of avoiding having to park on the streets or elsewhere. The free Wi-Fi is a nice bonus, too. Where Baily's really need to do some work, though, is in the area of projecting a personally welcoming tone. Without going into the blow-by-blow, I will only say that I felt something akin to hostility when I arrived and the owner let me into the building (I did not have my key code handy), only to tell me very curtly that I had no reservation for that night. I politely insisted that, in fact, I did have one, and cited the conversation I'd had with her only two days prior. Then, without a word, she exited the building and disappeared, leaving me standing in the foyer area unsure of what to do. In about 5 minutes she came back and announced that I could stay in the Black and White room, and that, indeed, I did have a reservation. There was no apology or courteous "fuss" made; she pointed to a basket holding two bottles of warm water and my room key, asked me to sign a credit card payment slip, and sternly directed me to my room. She never introduced herself, did not name any area points of interest, or ask anything about my needs or intentions. Off-putting, indeed. A friend I made while staying at Bailey's had a similar experience, only he was not as lucky. He was turned away for his first night, and had to find accommodation elsewhere, late at night, after being told it was his "fault" for the mix-up. Again, no apology or personal caring on display. We both wondered where the other inn keeper might be. The fact that she never appeared at any point was, well, a bit unusual for a B&B. We both felt like the owner viewed us as bothersome chores who were interrupting her busy life. My advice for anyone thinking of staying at Bailey's is this--go for it, for all the reasons named above and elsewhere. It's a very good value. But DO get your reservation confirmation in writing, and remember your key code number. If you forget it, it will be a hassle to reach one or the other of the ephemeral owners, who apparently live in some other, unknown, location. Don't expect any hospitality; you are on your own in that department. Enjoy!

Last year we held our manager's meeting in Dallas. I was looking for a B & B where all 5 of our managers could stay in and have some time to brain-storm, getting to know each other better after a full day of meetings. Bailey's was the perfect place! Warm, cozy and comfortable. Great breakfast each morning too! I highly recommend them!
