Orange Nails & Spa II in West Hartford, CT

I've been to this salon a few times & they do a lovely pedicure. However, my last visit was terrible. 3 major issues:

1) Appointment Punctuality
2) Services/Products Available (no acrylics/chrome)
3) Attention to Detail (they cut me)  

First, I had made an appt the previous day & they didn't have me in the books. They did manage to fit me in but they clearly overbooked. A mom & her young daughter (4-5 y/o?) walked in with a 2:45 appt & they waited over 30 minutes before they were serviced. If that had been me & my young daughter I would've been furious & left.

Secondly, I had wanted the Hailey Bieber chrome nails. They do not carry acrylic nails or chrome. I tend to go back and forth between acrylics and gel so this is not ideal for me.

Lastly, the woman doing my manicure was clearly rushing because they had overbooked and she cut my finger when trimming my cuticles. It was quite painful & bled & makes an otherwise nice manicure look bad.

I have just received the worst manicure of my life. A seven year old could have done a better job. First the manicurist (which pains me to use such a professional title for her) cut my nails to the quick and left the edges very jagged. Then she did an erratic job on my cuticles so they have no uniformity or evenness to them. They are a complete disaster. Save yourself a lot of tears and never subject yourself to this horrible mess! I wish I could leave a zero star rating.

I have been to Orange Nails 4 or 5 times now and I'm always completely pleased with how meticulous the nail tech, Gina, is.  My toes have been looking awful due to losing my two big toenails from hiking.  I've skipped pedicures for the last five months because I couldn't imagine how they could make my feet look normal. Gina somehow made those horrible half-grown in nails look great. She spent a lot of time (I went mid-week) working on my feet and it was worth it.  I think their prices are great and the salon is very clean. I'm really happy I found this place.

One of the best pedicures I've ever had.  It was an older lady and she took so much time and care.  I don't often leave reviews but this gal was so stinking cute. Great customer service!

I'm not one to leave bad reviews but I was just so disappointed in my experience. I've been here about 3 times & their pedicures are very good but I noticed their manicures are just OK. The nail techs often miss spots. However, this last time I went I could not believe the service. My nails were not fully painted, they were clumpy, and she painted my nails 3 times, which we know... will never dry. I get that folks are learning but then I would expect colleagues to assist or the manager to help out. They saw her struggle and I even asked for someone else to jump on and finish my nails & no one would. The salon was closing & they left her alone. I'm definitely not coming back, not even because of the nail tech but because they did not even offer help or a refund for the terrible service.
