I just had a color retouch done with Jillian  and she did an amazing job!  She listened to my requests and reacted accordingly.   I've had my hair cut/styled here for over 20 years.  The students (supervised and guided by an instructor at the beginning and end of haircut) have consistently done an outstanding job.
I treat it as my spa time.  Relaxed and leisurely.   If you're looking for a quickie cut, go elsewhere.  This is for your relaxation and the students education.   I have never had a bad haircut.   Just be specific as to what you'd like your cut to look like.  Thinking of a different style, bring along a photo  to help you describe what you want.
Facials are very calming and incredibly relaxing.  Aveda offers all kinds of specials through the year.  Check website or call.  Carmen

I went to O'Brien's Aveda for the first time to obtain skinny platinum highlights (I also received a trim.) The student was a conscientious, sweet young woman who actively sought clarification and direction-I give her 5 stars!
Unfortunately, when I got home there were no highlights in my hair...see photo. The reason why I won't return to O'Brien's is that when the time came to pay...there was quite a discrepancy in fees advertised and the fees charged. On the website, partial highlights are listed as $40+ for my short hair. That is what I normally spend in a salon. I was charged $60 for the partial highlights. The woman at the register was exceptionally rude and went on about bowls and toner. I'm not a beautician and I don't know (nor do I care) about mixing chemicals and "bowls". I just want transparency about costs. And not transparent highights. When I got home, besides the invisible highlights, I found I was charged an additional $2. Again, if you're not up front about costs, you look shady.

I appreciate that this is a teaching school and didn't expect perfection but for $20 (which is more expensive than any of the other professional nail salons nearby) it was a terrible manicure and took 1.5 hours. Polish was clumpy, no drying machine, students were wearing masks under their noses. Not a good experience at all.

My first experience and most certainly my last! I went to have my hair cut and thinned, as my hair is extremely thick. I had my hair washed, and the girl started to cut my hair. She messed up several times, and had to get an older student to fix my hair. After about an hour of this my hair has maybe half an inch cut off at most. I asked for an inch and they haven't even started to thin it. The manager comes over and asks if the girl needs help, I found that odd, but the girl was taking a while. The manager starts combing my hair and demanding to know what I've done to it and if I've treated or anything. I say I have box colored it six months ago. She stops, plucks a singular piece of hair out of my head and starts insulting me saying how I have lice and that this was an egg and that's how they can tell. How to take care of my hair and how to get rid of all the lice in my house. Now this should be noted, I have never had lice, I have not dealt with anyone recently that has lice, and I don't work with little kids. To top that off my head hasn't itched at all. She doesn't let me explain and keeps saying how I need to take care of my hair, whips the cape off of me and snaps at the girl to start disinfecting everything immediately causing a scene. Other customers looked over and I became very embarrassed because she was causing a scene.  The woman dismisses me warning me I will ruin my hair by treating it, but first I have to pay. I had three people running their hands through my hair, and one piece of residue from my hair spray says I have lice? Not to mention I had been there and hour and now they tell me this? I immediately leave to call my doctor and schedule an appointment and when she sees me she tells me the person who said I had lice is clearly blind. So not only did I have to pay for an unfinished hair cut, but also a doctor visit. I call the institute and try to complain the woman hangs up on me, not before saying that all the claims were incorrect and I was clearly wrong and so my doctor who has a medical degree. Highly rude, unprofessional, and I will tell everyone I know not to waste their time here.
