NBC Hair Studio in Cranston, RI

Jessica is amazing. My hair comes out beautiful each and every time. She makes you feel like more than just a client. The girls working all seem to love their jobs which makes for a real positive experience.

I no longer go to this salon.  The  stylists were very professional, great menu, closed on Tuesdays, it's always freezing in there and no wi-fi if you were planning a color or lengthy visit.  The salon co owner CHERYL was overheard by me talking about her clients in a negative manner who would cancel on rainy days and about clients quoting " some of them I love some of them I can't stand" verbatim.  Obviously Cheryl has her own issues.    She doesn't seem to take her clientele seriously unless she likes you,but doesn't take the time to get to know you.  She's sitting complaining most times I see her.   She was also heard making remarks about my disability but I'll stop here.    My stylist left for professional reasons so I follow her everywhere since I have been seeing her since 2013.  She's the best.

I went here to get my hair done for my engagement photos.  I warned the hair dresser Taylor that my hair could get very frizzy from blow drying.  Because my hair was a little damp she whipped out the blow dryer and unfortunately a big brush and started to dry my hair.  Sure enough my hair got super frizzy.  Next she attempted to take down the frizz by flat ironing the top and curling the bottom.  That did help to an extent but an hour after leaving the salon my hair started to show signs that the frizz was going to take over the whole hair-do.  I showed her a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like (a really loose and natural looking braid off to the side).  It didn't end up being exactly what I wanted and of course frizz was the overall theme.  I wasn't super happy with how she responded to my comments about the style or suggestions I made along the way.  She was listening to me but I felt like she was a little annoyed at my comments.  Overall my hair ended up looking alright.  The back wasn't that great.  I'm hoping my engagement photos turn out okay.  I won't be choosing this place to get my hair done for my wedding after the experience.  I'm sure Taylor is a great hair dresser, I just think she needs a little more experience with curly frizzy hair and more experience listening to and working with her customers.

Whenever I am in Rhode Island, I make it a point to schedule time for a massage at the NBC hair studio with Karen. It is always the most relaxing 60 minutes of my trip. Karen has been at this a long time and her ability to listen and understand various client needs and focus areas (tight shoulders, neck, etc.) as well as adjusting her program for any medical conditions, is really second to none. Whether you are looking for a massage as a special spa treatment, as a gift for a loved one, or as part of a larger therapeutic program for pain relief, I wholeheartedly recommend Karen at NBC.
