They got me in on short notice on a rainy beach day. Staff was nice & personable, work was well done, prices were reasonable.
I have had pedicures here a few times. They were okay. I had a manicure the other day and my nails look nice but I am very unhappy with the experience for several reasons. It hurt a lot when the technician was removing my old gel polish. His electric file wasn't working properly and I don't know if that is why but it hurt and was burning my nail bed from him going over it too much. I was jerking my hand away because it hurt and I said it hurt. He said oh it tickles. I said no it hurts. Really? Next issue. I told him I wanted my nails filed straight. He rounded them. They are short so to square them would have made them too short. Also, the 4 sided file he used was leaving black dust on my fingers and nails. I told him he needed a new file. He didn't get one and instead of having me wash my hands to remove the dust he decided to paint my nails. I had to show him the black spots on my nails several times. He had to wipe of the polish many times to restart and had to keep cleaning the nail polish brush. Why oh why? Also, he didn't trim my cuticles at all!!! He used the tool to scraped down my mail but didn't trim the excess skin. I paid for a manicure not a nail color change. He didn't even put cuticle oil on my cuticles.
Last minute decision to get my nails done on a Friday afternoon. MK Nails was great with squeezing me in without an appointment. I did call ahead to make sure I could get in without much notice. Love the location in Nags Head, NC, Outer Banks. Not too far from my house. Great family atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly. I noticed many locals were coming in and the staff knew them by name. I had a gel manicure, and I could not be happier with my nails. I will recommend MK Nails to all of my out of town guests and any of my local friends looking for a nice clean place to have a relaxing nail appointment.
