My first appointment with Tracy at Michael Richards salon was a real pleasure! The staff was VERY friendly and helpful, Tracy gave an amazing cut, color and styling and I am so happy I discovered this place! Super clean, bright and also a good value! Bravo! 5 STARS!

Today was my first time at this salon. Rupy cut my hair and did a phenomenal job. I'm always hesitant when trying a new salon, but I am certainly more than happy with the result. I described to her exactly how I'd like my hair to look and she surpassed my expectations. I'll definitely be back.

To begin with - for the person who said that "Ruby" (her name is "Rupy", and she is Indian, not Mexican... big difference) speaks only garbled or fragmented English is completely incorrect. And, in the 10 or so appointments I have had with her, she not only is fluent in English, but is also a consummate professional, lovely, and highly skilled.
Having said all of that, I moved to the area about a year ago, and decided to give this local salon a try, as trekking down to my usual one in Greenwich takes too long now. I was uncertain, because I have very thick, long and wavy hair (picture spirals). First time, I got a great blow out from Georgeann. The next time, another amazing blow out by Michelle that lasted for days and days (thanks to low humidity, and her skills). And, I have been to Rupy for cuts, color and blow outs that leave my hair smooth and silky. Sometimes you have to wonder - are bad experiences sometimes not due to the vendor, but the attitude or unrealistic expectations of the client? Anyway - I rarely give 5 stars, but these folks deserve all 5.

This is a re-do review. I left a HORRIBLE review last time because I was turned down for a facial because I'm a man. Ruby said that she only does women's facials. Humans have the same type of skin, so I knew that was a lie. I went in to get my eyebrows threaded and then she said that my hair was too thick...which it's not. So I knew something was up. The owner was very sweet and talked to me and offered to wax my eyebrows for FREE! She promised that nothing would happen to me even though I'm on RetinA. She did such a good job and wouldn't even accept my tip for her amazing service. The real reason is because Ruby's religion doesn't allow her to be in the same room that a man is in alone. You should NEVER judge someone or get angry because someone's religion prevents them from doing something. It's amazing that she's so faithful in her religion! You don't see much of that nowadays. I will definitely go back to get my eyebrows waxed by the owner. She is soooooo sweet!

I didn't realize I had gotten the worst manicure of my life until two days after when almost all of my "tips" began breaking off.  I should've known she wasn't sure what she was doing with my nails when she couldn't even find the right size tips for my nails.  Although I do have very small nails, I've never had someone file them too much to where they were just a little too small and don't reach the edge.  She also kept painting layers of nail glue all over my nail and sprinkled some sort of powder that I guess resembles acrylic on my nails.  Anyway, they weren't shaped correctly, nail glue all over my skin, nail polish all over my skin and uneven on the nails.  Although she was extremely nice, I just feel like I got ripped off.  I asked for tips, acrylic, with gel or polish.  If that isn't something that you know how to do or feel comfortable doing, then please send me somewhere else.  So disappointed with this $50 manicure.  Coming from someone who has been getting all sorts of things done to her nails for well over 10 years, please go elsewhere and treat yourself to a REAL manicure.  I just wasn't happy with this salon therefore I will never be going back.
