MG Artistic Hair Salon in Queens, NY

I"m normally not someone who leaves reviews but honestly, I have to bc of how much I hate my haircut. Firstly, I just want to say that part of the staff especially the front desk are extremely kind people who cared for me bc I had such a bad experience, I ended up crying, & they genuinely cared about how I felt (hence the two stars). I had a terrible haircut experience with one of the hairstylists: Leo. The moment I sat with Leo, he did not even greet me & had an annoyed look on his face. Off the bat, he did not even talk to me. I even tried to make small talk with him, but seems like he wasn't interested. He just started working on my hair & that's when I showed him a few inspo photos of what I wanted. I had grown out my hair for the past few years, so my hair was very long & special to me. I DID NOT want to cut my hair short; I told him to keep the length but just trim a bit off (I even showed him), but he kept cutting it shorter & shorter every time. I reminded him numerous times during the haircut of what I wanted & he just looked angry. I ended up getting something completely different than what I asked for. I wanted a blowout as well, but he did my hair completely flat; my front pieces did not "swoop" the way I asked him to do & my hair was so frizzy. Worst part is that he cut my hair SO choppy. Just look at the photos I posted. Super disappointed! Years of growing my long hair was chopped off in a matter of seconds. I literally bawled my eyes out in the salon. SMH.

Literally the best haircut I've gotten in a while! I usually get short hair once in a while just for utility and not for aesthetic, but Hang did a great job styling my short hair so it was literally perfect. He was meticulous with his work and double triple checked every part of my hair so it was perfect- it is obvious he does his job with love and care. The interior of MG was very spacious and clean. It is recommended you come on a Wednesday/Thursday as that is when they are the least busy. I will return again!

I came in with my friend to get my hair colored. We didn't make an appointment but they accepted up for walk ins. All of the staff are very nice. They took great care of us with water and snacks. Allen, my stylist, asked me about my color and was very accommodating when I asked for no bleach. I wanted red and he was able to make it happen. The process was very comforting with nice seat and ambiance. Allen was able to style my hair the way I wanted it and I really like how my hair turned out. All of the staff made sure we were comfortable and I would really recommend MG Hair Salon if this is your first time coloring your hair.

Hugo was my Barber. He did such a good job. I got a perm and a cut and he did not disappoint. I am at a lost of words. Service was immaculate. They gave us food and drinks and were all friendly.

I've been a returning client at MG for the past two years. They do a phenomenal job with balayages, even when working with damaged hair. I've gotten countless compliments on my hair since going to MG. The service is incredible and I have immense faith in their skills and professionalism. I cannot commend this place enough.
