Melanee's Hair Studio in Tampa, FL

so I just moved to the area, I was in desperate need of finding a new hair dresser. I spent two weeks doing research and came across this salon. Best decision I ever made was calling Melanee. She fit me into her schedule the same day that I called, she took her time doing my hair, she's so precise, and makes sure you like what she's doing during the process. Very professional and friendly, great conversation, great vibes, and just overall amazing. I will most definitely be coming back every time

The owner acts like she is nice, but service was lacking and I did not like some of the owner's comments or the treatment I received. It's not right to increase the price as much as she did on me and at the end of my service at that. I shouldn't have paid. I went a couple of times and I was burnt repeatedly by a stylist and she did not apologize at all. It was a while ago, but both times I went there was 1 stylist to choose from and they were two different people. I wish I had the first. If they have the same keratin products I wouldn't waste my money on it. I would not recommend this place.

So my first experience with this salon wasn't great but I decided to give them another chance 1 year later. At both appointments I had to wait for the stylist to arrive. Not for a stylist to finish with another client but to arrive. The second time I called the salon because the service I wanted was not on their site as to get a text confirmation since I called the salon. . . . Look I've given this place way too many chances. Brought my daughter here last summer to get her hair dyed and had no issues. We came back this summer so she decides to use her again. Big Mistake. My daughter showed her a picture of the color she wanted. She handed my daughter a book of hair color swatches and asks her to choose a color. There's nothing there exact, and my daughter said she remembered her from last summer so she told her "similar to that but lighter". My daughter wanted a "ginger" look. Long story short, she bleached her hair (without asking/telling her), left to go get "something from the beauty supply" for an hour, dyed the hair some Burgundy-red-purple color, and then wouldn't fix it. Mind you, I told her immediately because my daughter is young and timid and doesn't know how to stand up for herself yet. She then proceeded to tell me this is the color she chose...and these two women in the shop can vouch for her...blah blah. I showed her the pic again. These colors are no where near each other. She offered to try to darken it but we had plans already..mind you it had already been four hours. We set an appointment for 2 days later. She also said it would look better when it dried. The next day it didn't. We sent her a message saying it isn't better and to just refund the money. Then we tried another salon to get it fixed. They wouldn't touch it. So we text her again asking if she could fix it at the scheduled time we had. She then goes on to say she stands by her work...already offered the refund and basically ghosted my daughter. We tried to fix it ourselves and it was a disaster. Finally found a salon on IG that fixed it. Do Not Go Here For Color Services! I'll attach the pic that was shown to her...the pic of what she did, and the disaster of us trying to strip that color out.

I went to Melanee's because I had gone to this salon several years ago and I was always happy with the work. I just moved back to Tampa from California and needed to get a sew in installed. I quite literally look like a blockhead. I paid $200 for my hair to come out lopsided. You can clearly see see how raised it is. It makes me look like I have a big forehead. When I contacted another stylist to fix it and sent her a picture of my hair she told me that it looked like a 5th grader did it. I just got my hair done today and I immediately had to put on a hat. The braids are huge and the stylist that will be fixing me tomorrow told me that they should have been much smaller so I didn't look like I have two huge bumps on the top of my head.
