Magical Nails & Spa in Walled Lake, MI

This place is under new management/ownership and they are doing a fantastic job!! I've tried many nail salons all over getting gel, powder, shellac, you name it and it never lasts. My shellac manicure lasts longer than ever now that I see Minh every two weeks. The other reviews must have been from the previous owners because I only hear good things about Lee as well! (Min's wife/owner as well) Best in Walled Lake and I've tried a handful since I moved here.

The guy that owns this place is SO unprofessional and flat out rude. My nearly 70 year old mother has been a loyal customer here for years, despite the several ownership changes, sloppy nails they do, and continuous over-booking of appointments. The last time she went for her appointment the owner was doing her nails and another client's nails at the same time (SO UNSANITARY) and when she asked him to put an extra coat of clear dip powder for her he argued with her and said he would not until he actaully THREW DOWN HIS FILE AND STOOD UP AND WALKED AWAY. He then made a different girl come out and finish my mom's nails. That girl said "next time you come, you ask for me", implying he no longer wanted to do my mom's nails in the future. She has been a loyal customer and he always changes her appointment times, charges whatever he wants each visit, does a crappy job, and now is going to throw things at her?? We will NEVER GO BACK to this dump and I hope this review helps you choose not to support this business either. There are hundreds of nail places in this area. How completely unprofessional, RUDE, and flat out embarassing for this man and business owner to behave like this to a customer.

If you're looking for somewhere efficient and non-time consuming, don't come here. I had an appointment at one and arrived five minutes early. Now I don't expect them to start my nails five minutes early, but I do expect them to start at the time I was appointed. The owner finally started my nails 45 minutes after my appointment. I was taken back when the owner laid the acrylic on my nails shaped and filed my nails then told me to go wait for someone else to paint my nails. While I was getting the acrylic put on my nails I noticed that the owner was blowing on the acrylic, which disgusted me especially since we're not only going through a pandemic but whatever came out of his mouth would be trapped in the acrylic as well. It was also obvious that I have terrible cuticles and I have a few hang nails, yet he proceeded to file my nails with such aggression that I nearly started crying in the seat. Not to mention while he was working on the acrylic, he was smacking my hand away when he would switch to a different hand. Now it might just be me, but I thought that was very disrespectful and very unprofessional. Switching stations- it appeared that there are only four staff members working, so it was understandable that they were trying to get through all of their clients within a fast pace. Yet I had to wait another 20 minutes until the lady who was painting everyone's nails was ready for me. Forgive me because I don't remember her name but she was very kind and sweet and took her time painting my nails. The only thing that bothered me during this step was the colors that I picked were replaced when they said that they "could do better colors". We finished up about three o'clock which was two hours after my appointment and a total of $60 +tip. I believe if the prices were lower like $25 for a full set or $35 instead of $45 for a gel full set, it'd be a little bit more reasonable since they don't really care about hospitality and being respectful to their clients.

I love this salon! Danny does such a good job on my dip - it lasts forever and isn't too thick. This is the only salon that does dip that looks natural and similar to regular polish without looking like you have acrylic but you still get the dip length of wear. They also do great pedicures and waxing. If you are looking for something more detailed I would recommend making an appointment with Danny or Stella - they are the owners and seem to be the most qualified. Although if you are just going for something simple, everyone that works there is really great. The usual salon atmosphere but nice and clean. Great massage chairs for pedicure. I have also seen Stella do some really amazing nail art on clients.

There is nothing Magical about this place. Terrible job!! shellac on cuticles peeled off in 5 days, toe polish also peeled . Went back to have them redo and they spoke down to me , made me feel terrible they do not have business etiquette or know how to do nails!!! DON'T GO HERE!!!
