M T Nails in Lewistown, PA

Figured I'd stay in the area instead of going to my normal salon in State College. Other places I was referred to seemed busier (roughly 9:30-10am) and I just wanted to get it over with. There were two techs working and two customers ahead of me getting their nails done. I'm use to a long wait at my usual place so I wasn't phased. They confused complaining, with constructive criticism at the slightest. You can't just "sand down" an over thick nail that does not match any of the others. My nails were different forms and sizes of "coffin", and within less than 2 days three had broken off doing simple tasks. AND to be handed the file and told if I could do better, than do it, I couldn't help but laugh at the audacity. I'm not a negative person and I hate to come off as so, but if I'm paying you to fix my nails I'd like them to look the same at least. I have never had my nails break off so easy in such a short amount of time. I've always had long coffin nails, and I use to work in food service where I was banging them off things constantly never had problems. It's a shame, especially since the woman was laughing with the other customers talking rudely about me. Two stars because I did still tip them. I couldn't leave without being passive in my own way.

I used to come to this salon all the time and loved it. Recently I had been traveling 45 min out of town to get quality nails, so decided to try it out again. What a mistake! We got there 10 mins before they opened, to try and decrease wait time. There were already 2 other ppl there waiting, which happens. A 3rd woman pulled up, and walked past all 5 of us who had been waiting, and was taken back immediately. My daughters and I waited OVER 2 HOURS before being taken back, not being told ONCE how long the wait would be (we never would have waited that long.) There were 2 nail techs, so the woman who cut in front of everybody, took one of the techs for over 2 hours (nails and toes). Maybe she had an appt. I don't know. I was there for a fill/gel manicure, my daughters, each only a very simple painted manicure. We ended up being there over 3.5 hours. Even tho my nails would take much longer, they did my daughter's nails first. They asked me several times what I wanted (a gel FILL is what I had said) and even wrote on the wait list. I very clearly needed my nails filled. Instead, they tried to just sand them down and paint them! It wasn't until I said something that they stopped, and made me feel like it was my fault, bc I didn't say "refill." My daughter's manicures were $20 a piece, and they painted ONE COAT of color.... The paint CHIPPED, and peeled off the side within 2 hours. (No she wasn't doing ANYTHING that should have caused that.) My other daughter's chipped 2 days later. (The last salon I took them to, Tony's, painted their nails in gel polish, WITH A DESIGN for $20, and it lasted over 4 weeks.) This was to be their nail polish for the first day of school and now they will both will have to have them fixed somewhere else. I understand being busy and being short staffed, but communicate with your customers. Don't shortchange them because you're in a hurry, and because they are "kids." I will be going back to the out of town salon, where you get what you pay for, and it lasts. Never again.

This place is the worst place I have ever went to. First they had my daughter and myself wait a hour and half to get started and 30 minutes of that they had me sit in pedicure chair with no water in it. My daughter had mani and pedi and I had a fill and pedi. They didn't even buff the nails to ensure a smooth surface prior to painting them. Another thing I disagreed with there was another lady there for fill and pedi and they made her wait till after us because there was two of us and only one of us. They have the worst customer service I have ever seen, would not recommend and certainly won't be back, will be going to another place to have them fixed tomorrow, and appointment is already made. We were there for over 3 hours, and that is just ridiculous, save your money and go somewhere else.

This place is awful. I visit the area and tried here twice. So unimpressed. The staff are extremely rude and conceited. They don't own up to their mistakes and are in a rush. They are not kind to their customers and can be very rough with them. I would say pass them by and look for another nail salon in the area.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon! I will be turning them into the Better Business Bureau and the State Board of Cosmetology! I got married over the weekend and four of us went last Thursday around 2:00 p.m. There were no customers in the salon at the time so it's not like they were busy. The lady was mean and nasty!! She yelled at us and nicked our fingers and made them bleed and just said Oh stop complaining! She would not let us use the colors we wanted because they weren't gel and told us that we needed gel because she wouldn't guarantee the other nail polish to last a day! We told her we didn't want the upgraded pedicure and we didn't want gel and she acted like she didn't understand what we wanted and she kept repeating herself and yelling at us and we just sat there and didn't know what to do. The other employees did the same thing and insisted we get gel and then gave us the upgraded pedicure and at the end charged us an outrageous amount of money and then proceeded to yell at us and say they weren't ripping us off even though that is exactly what they did! They upgraded everything and didn't give us what we wanted. I had acrylic nails, french manicure tips, pedicure with french manicure on them and my daughter just had her nails painted with french manicure and a pedicure with nail polish and our bill was $175.00!!!! My mother just had her nails painted and a pedicure and her bill was $75.00. They upgraded everything and used the gel polish procedure even when we said no and they became angry and acted like they wouldn't do it if we wanted it the other way! The lady yelled at all of us and made the experience terrible from the start! I left crying and she knew I was upset! That is not a way to relax and celebrate a wedding and spend time with the wedding party!!
