Originally found this cute little salon through Groupon several years back and was immediately impressed with Pam and the massage services I received. Pam is a sweetheart and is fun to chat with. Sometimes I'm up for conversation during my treatment b/c she is so easy to talk with, but otherwise I just let her know I need to zone out. She is very attentive to pressure levels, areas that you want focused on and careful with any problem areas that you have. She makes sure room temp, table settings, oil/lotion etc are all what you are comfortable with and expect. A very professional and experienced masseuse. The Villager Salon itself is a cute little building set in a residential area, the spa services are offered in the basement. While the building is older, I find that the salon is always very clean, decorated cute and conducive to a spa atmosphere. The treatment rooms for massages are smaller than most, but are clean and appointed with what you need to relax. Granted on occasion there is some ambient noise from the salon above you, but I have never felt that it was intrusive. Between the table warmer, room temps, relaxing music, lighting and scents around me, I find it easy to close my eyes and relax. A previous reviewer mentioned glass blocks with sunlight being intrusive - but I have never found this to be the case with that particular room. I have yet to get my hair done at the Villager but want to, the staff has always been friendly and welcoming to me and the prices look reasonable. Outside of spa services, things that I've noticed that I love there. Always a cute and sassy saying on the advertising sign outside that makes me laugh, window displays that advertise their products and lotions and are themed for the season - always makes me linger and shop. And today I noticed that they have a overflowing basket of novels so that you can "keep things juicy" during your salon service. Once again made me just want to hang out and keep getting pampered. Keep up the excellent work on brightening peoples days with pampering Villager Salon!

I had bought a Groupon for a massage. My first experience was just okay. I had Amanda and there was a lot of confusion about how long my massage was supposed to be 60 or 90 minutes. The massage was good, not great. I bought another massage at the same price as the Groupon. After doing some research, I found that Pam had good reviews. I made an appointment for Pam but it was almost 2 months later, as her hours are very limited. For the massage with Pam, I arrived early. I gave the person at the front (Amanda) my name and my gift card saying I had purchased a 90 minute massage. She said I will bring you downstairs. I went down with her. She said 'you have a 60 minute massage'. I said no, I have a 90 minute hot stone. She started arguing with me and went and talked to her manager. She said that it was only a 60 minute and I had been given the wrong card. I said I was lied to, then? She said, well, yes. I said fine whatever, let's just do the massage. I went in and got ready for the massage. She came in and said, what is your name again? I told her. Her manager then came in. Keep in mind, this is while I was lying face down on the massage table NAKED! The manager came in and said that they got me mixed up with a Christi, who had a massage at the time I got there, but wasn't there yet. The manager was very apologetic and offered a free massage for my trouble. I did get my 90 minute massage with Pam who was great! She was also very apologetic. I would come back for a massage with Pam, but not with Amanda. Amanda was rude and disrespectful. I would give 2 stars, but Pam really did give a good massage.

The building itself made me feel like an oversized Alice in Wonderland in a tiny house. My massage therapist was very nice and offered a decent consultation. My issue is with the scratchy sheets and lotion. I don't have sensitive skin, but the sheets and lotion made me itch all day. If the building didn't feel so cramped and the massage rooms were cleaned up a bit I would give them another shot. Invest in better sheets!
