I was ready to start my loc journey, so I booked a mandatory consultation with Lucky You. An hour before my appointment I get a call that they were canceling the appointment.  Unfortunately, this isn't the first time this has happened...

I will always support Black enterprises, but this left a sour, inconvenient taste in my mouth.

Located inside Terraces at University Place shopping center. This business has a main salon and salon suites. There is also a barber shop. Everyone Ive encountered has been friendly and helpful. I first came about a year ago for a consultation and they were able to refer me to EJ who does locs/natural hair in one of the suites inside.

Hands down the best natural hair salon in Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas! The professionalism and all around experience is always Great! I have been a client of Lucky You for over 10yrs. Connie Hall is my stylist; and I have had the chance to experience other stylist doing my hair and have never been disappointed! The name speaks for itself.

I loc'd my hair last February & have been constantly going to this salon for my retwists. I never had any issue and really had made this salon my permanent place because I really liked the loctician (I won't mention her name); on the day of my last visit I went in for my usual wash and retwist, & in my past experience the person you book with normally is who washes your hair. On this day they had another woman doing the washing....All was going well & the woman greeted me and was very nice. She started the water and as soon as the water hit my head it burned the SH** out of me. It wasn't just hot, the water was literally scolding hot like nothing I had ever felt before. The pain was soooooo bad!!! I literally screamed at the top of my lungs. My stylist came to see what the issue was, and the lady washing my hair said that the sink she was using to wash my hair malfunctioned like that all the time. Question, why TF would you allow a client to use a sink that wasn't working properly??? Why?? No one apologized to me. No one cared. They all went on like nothing happened. I should have gotten up and walked out but I didn't (I still regret it) I let her finish my hair. It was so painful. Throughout her styling my hair she would periodically spray water on the area kinda like she was trying to cool down my scalp lol. I left out of there with not a single apology. I ended up needing treatment on my scalp. No one acknowledged what happened to me. I miss the shop and definitely hate that I have decided to stop going there because I genuinely liked the stylist and her work. Sad shame smh

This salon is clean and COVID precautions are being utilized. I walked in after an internet search for a price to do touch up color and highlights for my hair. I was quoted a price and set an appointment with a stylist. My hair experience was okay , she missed a spot but that was fine. However, she charged me the quoted price and an additional fee of $65.00 to perform a silk press !!!!! The total cost should have been quoted at the time I went in initially!!!!!
