I don't really like giving bad reviews but I dislike dishonesty even more. I got a recommendation for Cari and my friend said they loved the cut. So I called to make an appt. After going over a few dates and times, finally settled on an appt. date and time. At the end of the discussion, I asked what Cari charged for a h/c and was told $40.00. I said "great, thanks!" I arrived at the salon and someone else came out to get me, I asked "are you Cari?" "No, but I'm her daughter and I learned everything I know from her." I explained that I had made the appt with Cari because she came highly recommended and that while I was sure this person was good, she is not who I made the appt. with. She suggested that her name was similar, there was probably a mistake made. I finally decided to go with her as I needed a cut and I was already there. As we were talking about what to do with my hair, I said I don't like feathering, but I do like layers - deer in the headlights look. I should have walked. She finally said something about razoring (no, that's not what feathering is.) She cuts my hair, I don't like the blowdry but that's fine, I'll do it at home. Check out and it's $27, so obviously, the person who made my appt. did NOT misunderstand as I was told $40 for Cari. I paid, left and the next day, I was cleaning up my text messages and found the text reminder for my appt with CARI. So what happened? Did they decide to boost the daughter's schedule? Did Cari decide she wanted to accept another appt? Did someone accidentally double book her? Regardless of the reason, they should have been honest and not try to blame it on a misunderstanding when clearly, there was no misunderstanding. The difference in pricing for the h/c AND the text reminding me of appt. with CARI. I will not be going back. Oh, and the h/c is not great. Feathering on one side (um, NO, I said I didn't want any feathering) and the other side has a big chunk out of it, no feathering, but not blended. No blunt cut like I requested. Just be honest with your clients - don't lie.
