I don't have a place to go to get my hair cut in Madison, so I thought I would try this place out after looking at the prices. A regular hair cut for women is just $21 as opposed to $40 plus at most of the other salons in the area. After talking with the woman who did my hair, it seems that this is probably because they only do cuts, washes, and drying, with one hairdresser on staff who also does color. There is not the styling element at this place. The woman who cut my hair was super friendly and when I asked how she thought different styles would look on me she asked me to think about how the style would work in my daily life. Great way to practically decide. The place clearly has a family feel which was very appreciated, and most of the staff are very experienced. I heard some have been in the business for 17, 20, and 30 years. I have a feeling this is going to be my go to place if I need a haircut in Madison.
Lisa and Leslie give great advice and do great cuts. I have never had anyone do a good job on my hair until I came to you guys. I have big hair (lots of volume and curly, too). Usually stylists want to give me BIG hair -- which makes me look like I should be in an 80's band (think White Snake, Poison). I get a very reliable good cut here. My mom has been coming here for her haircuts for many years and recommended Look N Good when I moved back to the Madison area a few years ago. My kids have been coming here since Kindergarten as well. They gave good advice for my daughter with growing out her hair and also advised us on haircuts/colors that they've have had over the years. They've done it all -- from standard stuff (Grandma's practical haircut, trims, bobs) to funky cuts the kids have had (mohawks/faux-hawks, bold coloring requests, etc.). They do a super job and we have gotten lots of complements. We love coming here because they do a great job at a reasonable price. They are also super people to talk with while you're in the chair.
