Loanns Beauty Salon in Tampa, FL

Horrible! How do people give this place 4-5 stars! I went there thinking they would know how to cut Asian hair because they are Asian! I called ahead of time and spoke to the owner about her experience with Asian clients. According to her she's been in business for 20 years. When I got there, the salon looked pretty aged. They used cheap salon products that you can find at the dollar tree. Even their nail polish collection were the knock of brands. Some clients were not wearing a mask while it specifically said on the door that a mask is required. The two ladies didn't seem to regulate it. Probably because they didn't want to deal with potential loss in business. Anyway I asked for a hair cut and one color application. My hair color choice was light brown over my blonde. My hair came out dark brown! She said she had the right color and I told her this isn't brown. She insisted that I wash my hair 2-3 times to start seeing the color. That seems to defeat the purpose of getting colored hair. She also gave me a poor layered cut. Not layered at all! My poor hair. I really think she didn't understand because of the language barrier. Either way I'm never coming here again. I was charged $90 bucks for that service. Plus $23 for a pedicure that they insisted I get while waiting for my color to set in. didn't exactly get what I had asked for.

I love this establishment. The quality of work and the friendly conversation is top notch!

I'm glad my first haircut in Tampa is in this place. The price for a men's haircut is now the astronomical cost of $12 - big sign stating outside - . The man cutting my hair knew what to do - was efficient and pleasant. I also didn't mind the industrial strength pneumatic air blower rather that a normal blow dryer to remove the hair trimmings. I came in before lunch on a Tuesday - only one woman being serviced by another stylist. Overheard their conversation where the stylist had to explain that the woman's hair was not right for a razor cut and her previous stylist was incorrect. Went into detail as to why - my takeaway is they are quite knowledgeable I asked whether it makes sense to make a reservation next time I needed a cut and he just said "no, just come on by"

The gentleman they have cutting hair here does an excellent job. He is very careful and takes his time. The price for a mens haircut is great too only $10! I will definitely be back.

Threading has become one of the more popular alternatives to waxing, plucking, and/or shaving. And I'm sure you have heard of this because there are so many of those BrowArt shops and threading islands popping up at the malls and shopping plazas. No one can beat the threading here at Loann's though. Loann is very meticulous about the threading and you can be assured that there will not be a single unwanted hair on your face (or wherever you desire to thread). I say this because I have tried other places at the malls or other Indian or Vietnamese places and left with a lot of unwanted hair on my face. Ew, right?? I know. One important thing is that the threading here doesn't hurt as much when Loann does it. But then again, I have a high tolerance for threading and waxing. Maybe it's because I have done it so much these past few years (blame it on my genes for unwanted facial hair). Anyhow, don't forget to specifically ask for Loann for the threading. You can expect to pay around $7-8 for your upper/lower lip and chin and $20ish for your whole face. From my experiences, it is MUCH cheaper than getting them done at other places. Oh, and you can get a cheap haircut, manicure, and pedicure done here, too (ask for Loann or Thao)! Very friendly Vietnamese people!
