Raffaele was great. Got my hair done a few months ago. Haircut and red highlights. I got a discount from my Meetup site. He also recommended a very good shampoo and conditioner for my hair. Will return. It's also right across from the bakery, not a bad bonus. Parking is easy

Since my previous review and update, I have not heard from the owner again.  I am disappointed.  I hope others have a better experience here.

I have been to this salon twice for a cut&color, and both times saw Rafaelle.  The first time was ok, nothing special to write home about, but I was overall satisfied (hence the two stars instead of one).  The second time, almost a year later, was so awful that I was prompted to write this review.

Rafaelle basically treated me as if my head was covered in lice (I don't have lice, btw).  He barely touched my hair.  After I asked for a trim, he cut off the hair in the back, but refused to cut it anywhere else on my head, even after I repeatedly asked him to.  He had a grimace on his face as he touched my hair, which made me feel rather unpleasant.  The color job was awful as he did not cover all of the grey (maybe because he didn't want to touch my hair too much, who knows?)  I inquired about using moroccan oil on my hair, and instead he slathered some unknown goop (which I asked him not to do).

I left the salon extremely upset and unhappy with my hair, not to mention feeling like a complete leper.  It is now three weeks later, and I have finally been able to wrangle my hair into a presentable style.  After thinking that I've found my new go-to hair place, I'm so sorry to say that I will not be coming back here again.

Took my Mom for a special treat, she got an intensive conditioning treatment. My Moms hair has always been dry since she insists on perming it all the time. The owner spent over an hour on it! Not like those quick treaments you get at other salons where they just glam on some stuff put you under the dryer for 10 min and say "oh your hair wil LOVE this" and then charge you $50! I can do that at home! She went back to her home town and popped into her salon to pick up some product and her stylist said, "Wow what did you do do to your hair, it looks fanastic!" My Mom could not tell her of course that she'd been down to Outdo in Providence : )

Went in awhile ago with a Groupon for cut and color. Not very impressed, but it wasn't a horrible experience either. The salon is very small and sort of seems cluttered and cheap. (I leaned forward in the chair once to put something in my bag and the chair was so light (and not attached to the floor) that it tipped over. From the look of the place (and the bottle of water from Price Rite they gave me) I had the feeling they cut corners wherever possible... which didn't bode well for my hair.
My color came out ok... somewhat dull. The stylist didn't seem to understand what I was asking for although she seemed to be trying. The cut was awful. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and described it but somehow she turned a trim and texturing into major layers. She also completely botched my bangs and I could tell she knew it. They look so horrible I'm pinning them back until they grow out.
I guess I should have known better. If a salon welcomes walk-ins and is constantly relying on Groupon deals to bring in new customers, they must not get much repeat business. I understand they are dedicated to making the customer satisfied but honestly they couldn't entice me back for another service even if it was free.
