Lada Salon & Spa in Lawrence, KS

I'm new to the area and visited the salon for the first time a few days ago. From the moment I walked through the door I was pleasantly greeted and made to feel valued by Wende (the owner). My appointment was with Hayden and she cut and styled my hair expertly. Will definitely go back!

They texted to confirm my appointment today, went there today and they are closed. Got no phone call. When I tried calling, I kept getting hung up on. Drove 25 miles. Never returning.

I did a pedicure, manicure, facial and hair color and style! Loved the space, atmosphere, people and were great. I loved that I got everything done at once! I will be back to do it again!

In search of: the hair salon visit when you felt glamorous as you walked out hair flowing, nicely styled and blow dried with compliments from strangers. Well... this is the first time in decades of getting my hair colored that I walked out of a salon with my hair wet.  Btw, my hair is keratin treated and not curly or wild.

Did they stop teaching stylists how to use a blow dryer in school?  Here is the Formula for success: heat, tension, and small chunks of hair at a time.

A year ago,  the stylist at this salon said.. I will do the best I can... when I asked for a straight blow dry . ...not what you want to hear.

When I found out he was no longer there, I thought let me give them another try... basic service of root touch up. Although many stylists start at the crown, this stylist SPARINGLY used the color starting mid crown and worked her way to the front.  Although she ignored my comment about the majority of the grays at my hairline needing coverage, I awaited the results. Yup... not enough time for the front and she had to reapply. Which meant more time in the chair. The color stains round my hair line and ears lasted throughout the Labor Day weekend.

Let's talk about the blow drying... who blow dries hair and then places a layer of wet hair over freshly blow dried hair? I am open to learning this new technique... if that's what they are teach new stylist. I just didn't want to waste anymore of my time or hers, I told her I would dry my hair at home. She couldn't have moved faster as she unsnapped the smock to let me out of her chair.

She was sweet, very nice. And gave me a $10 discount. But inexperienced. If you are looking for a blowout... this is not the salon. I have experienced three difft stylists here.. I am still in search of a skilled stylist for a blow out.

I will share that other services at the salon are adequate and the owner is very friendly, kind and friendly.
