SUBJECT: "ALLEY RATS & WILDCATS"
I recently visited Nashville for a business trip. I decided to find a braid shop to get my hair braided. I called several braiding shops, but they were all booked on 12/19/2024. As a last resort, I contacted a 1-star review Hair Braiding Shop.

Upon walking into Kine's hair braiding shop,
I noticed a very strong odor. It smelled like a dead rat.
I noticed crumbs all over the sofa seat on the right side of me.

The workers and clients began to spew racist remarks against white people. A worker said white people are the only ones who have mental issues, and they began to laugh. I immediately felt extremely uncomfortable. Considering I embrace all ethnicities/cultures.

I was greeted by a woman wearing a pink coat and eyeglasses. I assume she was the owner of the Kine braiding shop. This particular wicked person informed me they would charge $60.00 to take down a few crochet braids. I wasn't comfortable with the environment, or pricing. I called my driver immediately to pick me up.

While waiting outside for my driver. Someone from Kine called my phone REPEATEDLY.
I informed the staff that I wasn't comfortable with their services.

The woman with the pink coat came outside and called me CRAZY and other derogatory names. She also told me to go to HELL.
She was extremely aggressive and verbally abusive.
I was appalled by her unwarranted remarks and behavior. This woman was completely out of control and uncouth. She behaved like a wild animal looking for prey.

The staff lack professionalism. This place should be put out of business immediately. I see inspections, violations, and closure of business in their FUTURE. #2024 #Becarefulhowyoutreatppl

Note: Certain children of God aren't meant to be mistreated. I am one of them! I have the utmost confidence and FAITH that God will deal with her accordingly. In the meantime, I will contact the BBB and a few of my city official friends.

P.S. AVOID JANKY PLACES like Kine's Braiding. Know your worth. Never Compromise.

Very unprofessional. I asked about box braids. She says your hair is already locd. I'm completely aware of what is in my hair. Do you do it or not. She proceeds to speak in her native tongue unknowingly speaking to someone married to a Nigerian. You'll never get a dime from me. Keep your snarky attitude about if you have the money I can. You don't know who you could be talking to or turning away. Have fun with this review.

Very unorganized with booking. Booked 2 appointments a week out and when we showed up the ladies said we was not on the schedule. I came in the Saturday prior to find out information on getting my locs done. One of the stylists gave me a card and told me to call to make an appointment. The lady that took my appointment took both the names and phone numbers when making the appointment and told me that we can come at the same time. Once arriving they told to come back in an hour. NO ma'am because I did what I was told to do. I needed to get my hair for my brothers funeral and didn't have the time to find somewhere else.

They're business cards say walk ins welcome and open til 8 on Sundays. We go in at 2.30 to get my daughters hair braided and she said no they wouldn't have time... I said how long will the wait be and she said they were going to leave when they were done with Who they're working on. Pretty pissed since we drove from Murfreesboro. Terrible customer service and from a business stand point didn't make sense to me.

After my experience on Thursday June 8th I will be looking for a new establishment to get my hair braided. I came in with my hair washed, moisturized and ready to be braided. Upon sitting on the chair I advised my braider to not braid as tight because I don't want to lose hair my edges. This woman I forgot to take her name, but I remember she has a young daughter and a son under 5 years of age and speaks french. When you walk inside the store in Antioch she is stationed on the first chair on the right typically. I came in with my specifics wanting my parts a certain way as it's always my preference. I told them the size I wanted and showed them a picture but even with that it took them 3 attempts before getting the size right. To make matters more difficult for me she went back in forth with me about how I wanted my hair parted. I relented and said ok b/c apparently there was a method behold the technique.

I initially wanted Senegalese twist but it seems like these ladies will do anything to get out of doing a style that seems to difficult for them to deal with or which throws them off of doing what's routine to them. I would go back and demand a refund but seeing as how they team up I'm not comfortable going alone. I sent a message to the owner of the shop who is out of the country and all she had to say was sorry and how often times other customers ask that they braid tighter. I'm not other customers I asked for one thing and that was to NOT braid my hair tight. My scalp hurts so much so to the point that I'm literally having to take a break from my daily routine just to avoid the pain of moving back and forth.

I'll give this a week to see if anything is done referencing this issue because my next step is to write a letter to the BBB. I'm not one for pain, I don't take it lightly where and how my money is spent, quality customer service and care, but if Kine insist on doing nothing but telling me sorry then my hurting scalp will be the least of their issues.
