Kaya Threading Salon in Los Altos, CA

THIS BUSINESS DOES NOT EXIST!!! When you walk in, it's a nail salon that does eyebrow threading. The lady at the front says they still do some cleaning and alterations so I gave her my curtain to be shortened in length. I gave her the curtain on Monday, she said it would be finished by Friday. I thought this was a little long for such a simple alteration but she said that it was her sister that does the alterations and she would be there later that week. I returned Friday at about 12:30 PM to pick up the curtain and it was sitting in a corner underneath a pile of clothes next to the front desk. She told me it had not been completed yet and it was because her sister was at Diwali for the past three days and had not been in yet. She was extremely unprofessional. It is obvious that this is not their main business and they really should not be accepting this type of business if they are unable to fulfill their obligations to the customer. I took my business elsewhere, and will never be going there again.

the indian lady is a crook!!! she stole three of my dress shirts and when i confronted her she said " no no no, not me" do not go here!!! they steal your clothes and do not wash them!!!!

Scammers. Overpriced. Everything you never want in a transaction. We moved from Palo Alto to Los Altos and figured we would give these guys a try since they are closer. Dropped off 24 shirts for cleaning; somehow their pricing is 2.5x my other cleaners. Since we were first time customers they wrote we could get a 25% discount, and wrote that on the receipt. I go to pick up my shirts and the attendant says she can't honor what was written on the receipt (admitting that it was written by someone there - she recognized the handwriting)...and she would charge me the full amount, and I could take it up with the owners when they returned from "overseas in a few weeks." HUH? No... Will never go back and highly urge anyone else to avoid this place like the plague that it is.

I'm reviewing the one in Palo Alto on High Street which is under the same ownership. I used to use this place all the time when I worked/lived downtown. Even though I don't spend as much time in downtown, I had good experience with this place in the past. However, the last several weeks have been very disappointing. When I dropped off a shirt for launder, they didn't have any paper receipts to give me and just had me write my name and phone number on a piece of paper. Although I was nervous about doing that, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Then when I tried to pick it up a few days later on a Tuesday, there was a hand written sign on the door "Closed on Tuesday". I came back a few days later at 5:30 pm (they close at 6) to find a handwritten sign "Back in 15 minutes". This really upset me so I called the number on Yelp to find out what was going on. A guy in Los Altos picked up and seemed surprised to learn that nobody was in the store. I didn't have much time because I had to pick up my daughter and told him that I wanted to get my shirt. When I came back 10 minutes later, the same guy who took my shirt was there on the phone with his boss telling him that I came back. He made no apologies for not being there. I told him that I was very disappointed in the service thus far. He asked me to write my name on a piece of paper so he could locate the shirt. When I explained that I was not given a receipt he first accused me of lying, only later admitting that sometimes they ran out of receipts. To make matters worse, the price of laundering is now more than double what I used to pay. Again, the lack of service and non-existent professional courtesy at this store made me wonder how they could even stay in business this long. It would have been nice to get some sort of acknowledgement of my bad experience but these guys are clueless. I even told the guy that I would never come back here again and he just looked at me. I don't write a lot of reviews but I just can't let such an experience go without commenting.

This dry cleaner was late on my order, gave me one shirt back with a stain, and lost one shirt. Most frustratingly, they have shown a complete lack of professionalism and it feels like they don't care at all about finding a resolution. It's been weeks of me stopping by and calling them, but they show almost no effort to try to actually find my shirt. I used this dry cleaner once before with a great experience, but I believe they were under a different ownership at the time. I dropped off 8 shirts about a month ago. When I came to pick up the shirts at the scheduled time, I was told they weren't ready. No apology..just come back next week. When I came back the following week, one of the shirts was missing and one had a stain. The woman who was there tried to find the missing shirt, but really had no idea what was going on. She told me to come back when the owner will be there and that she'll let him know what happened. I also left the shirt with the stain for a re-do. Long story short - when I came back, the owner had no idea what was going on and I had to fill him in. He promised to call me and find the shirt. It's been weeks since then and I've stopped by and called numerous times. There are two owners that make constant promises, but nothing is fixed and they seem to make no effort to find a solution. Today I asked what the compensation is for lost shirts, and he told me that they can give me store credit IF I can provide a receipt for when the shirt was purchased. He also told me that they've never lost a shirt before, which is a complete lie based on another review that was left here. I should have read the other review that said they lost his shirt and stayed away. At this point, I'm less upset about the missing shirt and more upset by their clear lack of professionalism and the fact that they don't seem to care at all about resolving something that is a basic part of their service. I'd be happy to update this review, if they would actually put in an effort to either find the missing shirt or provide a reasonable solution that doesn't require me having a receipt from when I purchased the shirt.
