K Hair Salon in National City, CA

Found this place with a quick Google search. I called for pricing and asked if they accepted walk-ins. Fortunately, it wasn't too busy and she was happy to take me right away. Got a wash, cut, blowout, and style. I like to keep my hair long, I wish I had a before because she definitely cut like 4-5in. She did exactly what I wanted and even better with styling!

So I went in there to get a haircut on December 29, 2023 and I told them I wanted my hair to be short and I gave them a photo before I even asked them for anything. They all looked at me like they didn't know how to service me and my hair type and instead of them telling me that she just went ahead and cut my hair and she had another lady standing over her while she was cutting my hair and she never used any hair clips. She never parted my hair like she did everybody else's or like everybody else was being done to, and the vibe was not welcoming or comforting it was just more like we're just here to give you a haircut and that's it and I didn't walk away, feeling confident in myself, and it was too late to stop her from cutting my hair because it already been cut and I paid $35.91 for a haircut that I did not ask for and I showed her a picture and at some point she was just cutting pieces off of my head because she didn't know how to treat my hair instead of her telling me she just took my money and did whatever she thought was appropriate so if you're black or have more thick and coarse hair than others, don't go to anyone who's not licensed to cut ALL hair types I'm gonna post my hair what I wanted and what I got. Obviously she doesn't and don't have experience with my hair type to ever cut my hair type. Instead of her telling me, you know, I've never cut your hair type of hair before that would've been way more respectful, but she didn't even tell me she's never cut my type of hair before. Watch out for those who have my type of hair because I wouldn't want you to go through what I had to go through. I ended up having to go to another hair salon to get what I actually wanted since I didn't get it the first time, shake my head.

Really disappointed in this place. I called beforehand to book an appointment and I specifically called and asked to book for a haircut and color, which they agreed to. When I came in, they were shocked when I had showed them that I wanted to color my hair and seemed in a bad mood when I was showing them. I had felt bad because I knew they were busy even though they had agreed earlier on the phone. My hair was also a mess because it was very tangly, so it made me feel more guilty. When the lady was brushing my hair. She looked at it and said "oh my god" in a very rude way. The lady who did my hair was rushing through the color so fast so she could move on to her next client. I had asked for a light brown ombré and she had only left the color in my hair for like 20 min. When she was done there was barely any color at all. I had told her that I wanted it lighter but she just brushed it off and said that my hair would get lighter from the "California sun" and that if I wanted a lighter color I would have to highlight my hair multiple times. This has never happened to me before when I wanted a lighter color. Below is the color I asked for and the next picture is how my hair looked. They really did not take any time on my hair and rushed through it just so they could attend to their other clients. She also charged me so much on the hairstyle. I would understand if she charged me that much and took the time to do it and gave me the color that I actually wanted, but the fact the she rushed through it and barely added any color makes it so overpriced. I ended up paying 200 including tip which i should not have even gave. Never coming back here again.

Got my haircut and color for a reasonable price. I'm happy with the outcome! Also, they're all friendly and know how to take care of their customers. I found a hidden gem!
