Just beautiful in Indiana, PA

I love this hair salon. I am an African American woman and was nervous about getting my hair done here, but Tiffany did an awesome job with handling my course Hair and dying my hair. The new girl is very nice and efficient too. Too bad their closing

This place is a girl's worst nightmare! You will spend many hours of your life and will walk away looking terrible! Consider yourself warned! I'm late to review this salon as I received my terrifying experience several months ago and am only now getting around to reviewing my visit. I visited the same stylist at the Indiana Regis on three separate occasions. The first two visits the stylist did a relatively good job - a very nice haircut and all over color from dark blonde to platinum blonde - but each visit took hours longer than they should. I figured I could deal with this if the girl did a good job. The third visit to the salon I scheduled for a cut and all over color to a darker hue, something easier to maintain. The stylist recommended that I opt for low-lights instead of all over color because she was concerned the look would be too shocking. I went against my instincts and agreed, believing the stylist was the professional and had my best interests at heart. This turned into a day-long disaster! My appointment was scheduled for 11:00 am, when the store opened. I didn't leave the place until after 6! AFTER 6!!! Further, my hair looked absolutely atrocious. For some reason, the girl had decided to bleach my roots to match my platinum blonde highlights. But I had gotten low lights. So when my hair would grow out, I would have a platinum blonde stripe around my head. I know this doesn't make sense. Imagine how it looked! When I saw the results what could I do? I had already been there for 7 hours! It was a Sunday. The mall was closed. My stylist had to let me out of the store through the back. And I had to walk around the mall on the outside to get to my car. It was dark, it was cold, and I looked completely ridiculous. I called the following morning and spoke with the manager who gladly scheduled an appointment that same morning for a fix. She applied additional low lights to my hair but neglected to address the platinum blonde roots. I actually had to walk her through the proper way to fix my hair, asking her to go over my roots with the darker low-light color so as to avoid the major issue I was having with the job in the first place. This was an additional 3 hours I spent in the salon. After 7 hours the day before. Please keep in mind that my background is in anthropology/archaeology and I have zero training or knowledge in the science of doing hair, but I have had my hair done enough times to know that their approach to my hair was completely wrong. I wish I had gone with my instincts in the beginning and insisted on all over darker hair color, but unfortunately it took this nightmare of an experience to teach me that important lesson. The health of my hair has definitely suffered as a result of my time spent at the Indiana Regis. My hair has always been relatively healthy and hydrated but I had lots of breakage and it took me 6 months for my hair to get back to an acceptable level of health after the ladies of the Indiana Regis Salon had their hands on it. Long story short, I would not recommend this salon to my worst enemy. There really isn't anything nice I can say about the place. Please do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment somewhere else! Anywhere else!

Don't waste your time or money!!! I was at the mall, needed a haircut and Regis looked like a reputable salon. The manager was on duty and had an opening, so I decided to get a cut. I have long hair with layers and I've been told it's a pretty simple, straight-forward cut. She asked me how I normally wear my hair, which is straight. I style it with a flat iron. My first clue that something was wrong should have been when she was styling it and told me she was curling it under. The cut looked ok when I left the salon. It wasn't until the next day that I noticed something was wrong. When I styled my hair the way I normally do, I noticed a big chunk of hair that wasn't blended. When I compared the chunk to the other side of my head, the chunk was significantly shorter. It's as if her scissors slipped and cut out a huge chunk. Then, she curled it under to hide it. It was so obvious when I straightened my hair. Then I had several big chunks of my bangs that were not trimmed. I had to have my hair re-cut somewhere else. They were able to fix up my bangs with no problem. However I had to choose between cutting several inches off of the length of my hair to fix the other mistake or blending it in as best as possible and letting it grow out. I opted for the latter.

I spent $200 on a cut, dye, and style job. This was because my hair was qoute thick and long. I spent 5 hours in a chair. I am not exaggerating. 5 hours!!!! When I walked out my dye job was garbage. I wanted highlights and lowlights. It looked like all they did was add a brassy color to my natural blonde locks! I thought for $200 and 5 hours of my time I would walk away with fabulous hair. WRONG! I would have had them fix it but I was so fed up with the time I already lost....And they keep sending me those return cards! Ha what a joke! Most of their business is probably from 1st time customers because I cant see why anyone would go back.

I got my hair washed, shampooed, and trimmed. I was the only customer so I didn't have to wait. This took well over 2 hours! I have never had someone spend so much time on my hair. This wasn't a dye job or a perm or even a styling. I just wanted a trim and maybe some shaping. It was a surreal experience, watching how my hair was slowly and gently brushed over and over again for almost 15 minutes before she made her first cut. After I saw the beginnings of my hair falling to the floor, I started to get excited, but then she went back to the brush and brushed again for a short while. It was as if my hair was being cut in slow motion. Just when I was sure she was almost done, she spent another 15 minutes brushing and realigning the back of my hair. When she was done she showed me a mirror but I was more intent on getting out of there than surveying the damage. Finally I did leave, losing only a few hours and unwanted strands of hair. And when I get home, the haircut looks like crap. 2 1/2 hours and I get crap. I thought I'd try something new but I think it's back to Supercuts for me.
