John Michael Salon in Woodbury, NY

I have been going to John Michael for my color for about 15 years and he is excellent. He is an experienced colorist. Robert is also great at cutting hair and blowouts. I have used almost everyone at the salon with great results. I would recommend this salon.

Since I moved I haven't been happy with anyone doing my color. Today John Michael salon did my color and I am even happier than I was with my salon before I moved! Everyone is very nice and they do exactly what you ask for!! Can't wait to go back!

This is my first time coming to this salon and I had my hair colored and highlighted by John Michael. I absolutely love the color and the highlights he chose for me but even more than that I cannot believe how Amazing my hair Feels! I am truly so happy. A noticeable difference than any other time I've had my hair colored. I also loved my haircut by Susan. She was super accommodating as I changed my mind midway the haircut and decided on something completely different. She was happy to oblige and I can't wait to continue working with her in the future. I topped off the day with an incredible mani/pedi with Kim! She did a Fabulous job. This was my first time out to a salon since Covid and I couldn't be more pleased.

I wasn't going to write a review but my mind was nagging at me because my hair is so messed up and broken and I don't want someone else to go through this. I had only been to this salon John Michael Salon Woodbury N.Y. maybe 4 times. I used Debbie she only does color. I had her highlight and lowlight my hair. The very first time I went to her my color was perfect. The second time I went to her I only had a partial. It was ok. The third time I went to her this past April 2019 I asked her to use the same colors she used on me the first time. I even showed her a picture of my hair that she did. She said "yes of course". Not only did she bleach my whole top of the head no low lights. The low lights she did use in the back of my head were dark dark brown. By the time I was done from under the dryer and being washed out, I saw her whispering to the the lady who was going to cut my hair (didn't think anything at the time). So I walk out paying an astronomical amount of money not knowing my hair was broken and burned off at the root. (I have a lot hair). About 4 days later I called to ask if she could thrown in a few lowlights on top because it was so bleach blond on top it looked ridiculous. She said yes she would put 3 lowlights in but actually put about 10. When I left I was so dark on top and blond in the back. 5 weeks later I noticed all these short frizzy pieces growing back. I texted Debbie and let her know how disappointed I was that she never told me she made such an awful mistake and charged me all that money. Her response to me was that she has been doing this for 33 years and she knows what she is doing and that she was sorry I FELT THIS WAY. I will never recommend this salon to anyone.

Owner colored my hair ... not very friendly like he was doing me a favor ... won't be returning... just don't understand the attitude... the salon is not that busy ...
