Jackie Moore Salon in Durham, NC

I've been a client of Jackie's for 5+ years now. I always come to her salon to get my hair colored, even after moving to NYC. The products she uses and her techniques have kept my hair (which is natural without a perm) in perfect condition.

I've gotten all-over color, highlights and balayage in the years I've been a client. This last go- round (12/31/2020) we did hot pink and it came out better than my expectations (especially for it being done in just one appt- usually it takes two for that amount of color)! I'm so in love and happy with how it turned out. I've gotten so many compliments and people are so in awe because she was able to achieve the color WITHOUT bleaching!

I got my first haircut after salons were allowed to open in Durham. Jackie did an amazing job...really LOVE my haircut!

I have been a client of Tracey's for the past 17 years, and very pleased to been going to Jackie's salon for the past 11 years.   It's a quaint clean environment and is welcoming to everyone!    

My hair cut & color are always fabulous...  and Tracey is always friendly and attentive.  

I love that their salon is an educational salon - and they are always learning and eager to train others.

Jackie is great. I'm new to the area and went here because it is convenient to my house and I could book an appointment online, and I'll continue to see Jackie because of the quality of her work. I get a color and a cut and she does both very well, after getting a good understanding of my preferences and adding her professional expertise. Jackie will offer product recommendations and samples without making a hard sell. The salon itself is charming and comfortable, and she offers tea while the color sets. Her location is also very nice - sometimes I'll get an ice cream from SugarFish or a snack from Parker and Otis and stroll through Brightleaf afterwards.

I can guarantee the 5 star reviews are not verified. I just relocated to this city on Sunday, and I have not blow dried my own hair in over 15 years as it has some areas of Jewish ethnic that only professional stylist can make my hair look as if it is naturally straight.  I understand that stylist to not like to be told what to do, but I have three areas that I wanted to point out to her that tend to be the hardest to keep it from frizzing and look like it is naturally straight and smoothe.  I also know that if they do not start blow drying at the roots my hair will look horrible an hour after I leave, and she was blow dry my hair without a brush I said you really need to start using a brush in order for it to get streets, so she began and I asked don't you sexually hear my hair is 22 inches long, sexier than hairs town the first day of beauty school.  She replied no I don't section here and I've been the dry here for 15 years and I inquired how many years of education does she get a year response was none. She did not listen to the few pointers I was trying to give her mind you had I love my Blowdry I would've been there twice a week. I saw my area starting to get frizzy and mentioned something and her response was "I don't do Jew hair, and started in on all the misconceptions of how we steal all their money etc. mean while my father was a Holocaust survivor who came to this country without a penny in his pocket. It says you turn the dryer off and asked me to  leave.  I was aware there is not a large Jewish population here but don't be getting anti-somatic with me when you could've been making money because I get to blow dries a week she said I don't want your jew money.  Rudest person I have ever come in contact with, and I'm from Manhattan living in a very nice state.
