First time as a customer at this Vietnamese Nail Salon located at Hawaii Kai Towne Center. The other nail salon at the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center was booked solid. I decided to try this nail salon albeit a little farther drive for me.
Much to my surprise, when I walked in there there was no one waiting nor were there any customers being treated. How am I so lucky?
This employee named Lisa immediately greeted me and asked if I wanted a pedicure. Yes, by all means. She told me to sit in chair number 6 and proceeded to fill this wash basin with warm water and minerals to soak my feet. Of course, as if on cue with Anjelah Johnson's skit, we all know to expect the up sell as Lisa tells me I should get the deluxe pedicure as opposed to the standard one. "Okay," I replied.
I must say the nails needed a trim and that Lisa did a great job. "Cam on Lisa", see you later.
"Chuc mung nam moi!"
The nail tech kept trying to upsell the service. I politely declined several times. It was disappointing that she skipped so many steps and completed the entire pedi in less than 30 minutes. She attempted to correct the pooling of the polish at the cuticles but wasn't successful. I tried to speak to her about the service but she wouldn't listen and was argumentative. Sadly I won't be returning.
I was a walk-in at In Style Nails in Hawaii Kai and while I had to wait a little, not too long but they were busy, and I was set up with Carolyn. After doing my own nails through pandemic, not great. She did a fantastic job, great leg massage, not the usual two minutes my previuos person did. She was very efficient even though it did take a while, as the massage, plus mani, getting short nails and buffed, which i prefer. Very reasonable price. All in a massage chair. She will now be my regular person.
Really cute shop for mani & pedi I need a rescue mission for my nail breaking & they fixed it nicely! It was a busy Friday afternoon & they made time for me. (2 other shops in hawaii Kai said they couldn't do) I will definitely be back for a new set soon !
Yen does THE best massage with pedicure. THE BEST. Nails are perfect! But make sure u are clear, after all, English is a second language. I asked for "a pedicure n gel nails. " I got gel toe nails n acrylic fingernails.
