Hamer and Co. Hair Design in Fayetteville, GA

I had been using the same hair stylist (Chelsa) for 9 years and she relocated to this salon. This review is based on her and the customer service of the salon. The salon has a very home like feel. Each stylist has their own individual booth which I really enjoy because it doesn't feel like anyone is watching you or in your business. The hair washing sink is also in the same area. It can be kind of boring if you're getting your hair colored and you aren't actually getting up out of the seat for 2 hours. I bring something to read so it doesn't bother me. Chelsa is awesome, she's very diligent, especially when it comes to cuts. My mom and I have been seeing her for 9 years now. We both have gotten our hair cut and colored regularly by her. The receptionist is always very kind, they give courtesy reminders of upcoming appointments and the even do nice things like mailing a Christmas card! Their prices are extremely reasonable. I love that every cut price includes a shampoo and blow dry/flat iron. I'm super happy with this salon and I will continue to come back for my normal cut and ombre color.

First visit to this Salon for highlights, lowlights and a cut. My goal was to find a new stylist close to home. I was informed the salon does "California Concepts" only where they measure the hear in order to give you the same haircut each time. I had never heard of that but gave it a try. Paige was my stylist, very sweet and focused. She had her license about 6-8 months. Not exactly what I was looking in regard to experience but felt everyone has to start somewhere. Full disclosure: I have a cosmetology license so I thought I could control the situation if needed, plus I have short hair so not too afraid of a possible mistake that would last only 2-3 weeks. The good: Paige did pretty good! She was extremely conscientious and took her time. I didn't get exactly what I was hoping for but she did well on mixing the color to tone down the gold in my hair and gave me a basic haircut. I wanted something a little more progressive but I can work with it and may even go back. The not so good: the salon is very dated: beige wallpaper, small cubicles where you can't see anything except the walls around you, and "Classic Vinyl" SirusXM background music. Every client I did see had gray hair, not that there is anything wrong with that. Anyway it was a bit of a time warp. 4 hours total :(. Salon uses Redkin products and is very clean. Attention to detail was obvious on helpful staff, clean tools and bathroom. Mani pedi and waxing available. I'm not sold on the California Concepts approach in general but I did enjoy having Paige work with me.

I've been going to Hamer & Co for 6 years now and I have never been dissatisfied with the service. Everyone who works there is friendly and does a fantastic job. They get to know their customers and take the time to make sure you're well taken care of!
