Playful! Fun! Slightly irreverent! What else can you ask for in one of the original salons that opened on KK? The stylists here are always having a blast so the salon has a great vibe. Lots of fun color hair going on here so get your purple unicorn look done at Hairy's Hair Bar. Want a cocktail while you are pampered? Ask for a beer or wine and you can chill with a libation. Step outside for a smoke while your hair is getting color. Hairy's has always had a great vibe so out of the many salons that have popped over the years stick with one of the originals. PS - Don't worry that your hipster vibe has passed because you can stick with a traditional style and nobody will judge you.

I have shoulder-length moppy curls that tend to frizz really easily. I just moved to Bay View from Madison and had to leave my lovely stylist behind. I was nervous because almost all of the stylists there have terrible-looking hair themselves, but braved through. I'm so glad I did. Joe (how has no one mentioned him yet) gave me hands down the best haircut I've ever had. It's the perfect (seriously perfect) wash-and-go. Turns out lovely every time. Then when I straighten it, it's also perfect. I sent a thank you note to Joe, which is a first for me. I referred to him as a "god among hair", which is no joke. This place is 100% not kid-friendly though. My 4 year old was clearly on everyone's nerves while I was getting my hair cut. Don't let that dissuade you though, the haircuts are for real.

Go see Kaleigh if you have curls and she'll hook you up. Nice to see "Save MPS" signs in the windows, and she was playing lady soul when I came in early on a Saturday. Perfect atmosphere. Steep prices but you get what you pay for.

I've been going to Hairy's for about a year now. The whole place has a very hip, industrial vibe and most of the stylists are funky and hip themselves, but don't let that intimidate you. Every time I've been there, the majority of patrons are regulars greeted with smiles and hugs, which has to be a good sign. I go to Kaleigh, and I've never felt that a hair stylist understood me and what I was asking for the way that she does. I always recommend Hairy's to friends who are looking for a new place to get their hair done - thumbs up! Also, they tend to play really fun music, which is always a bonus.

Love Kaliegh. Great cut and absolutely fabulous with color. I asked for my hair to look like fall and the reds, golds, and browns were gorgeous. And my friends knew that my hair was reflecting the autumn colors. Lots of appt times and I'm always greeted cheerily. Gotta love that I can get wine/beer if I want, coffee or tea if I don't.
