Hairplay in Roxboro, NC

I was not happy about my experience at this place. I had an appointment for 3:00 and was kept waiting for 30 minutes. I was extremely upset about that. The whole time I was there I didn't see any of the employees sweep up the hair on the floor. The person doing my hair blew hair all over my pocketbook. This was my first and last visit to this place. I would not recommend this place at all!!

Went in drab and came out fab!  Amanda Davis is the best!  I have gotten many compliments on my hair since last Wednesday!  I absolutely love it and love the colors and the cut is so much better than before!  Love it , Love it!

I've been looking for a place for me and my wild thick hair to call home for a while and I've finally found it here and especially with Meredith. She is the sweetest most kind person I've ever known and manages my crazy hair to boot. I'm one of those people that likes to change their hair as often as they change their mind and Meredith always talks me through the pros and cons of each decision I make. She is very helpful and informative about how each color and cut is going to look on my hair and what the damage or other effects might be. She has gotten to know me and my style personally which means a great deal. I am always so satisfied and leave feeling so beautiful! Thanks again to Meredith and Hairplay!

If I could give more than five stars I would. I left this place feeling like a million bucks without having to spend a million on my hair.

I have been to some of the highest rated salons in the triangle (Douglas Carroll -where the top stylist did my hair, Sam and Bills -near Cameron Village, and Rock Paper Scissors- Downtown Durham). Since I quit my job to be a stay at home mom, I can't afford to spend $$$$ on my hair anymore. I needed to find a place that was reasonable with talent and hopefully a group of hair dressers that treated me like a person and not just a customer.

I found that and more.

Hairplay is a group of the nicest and most talented women. The salon itself is adorable and not over the top! It's very welcoming. Joy, the owner, did my hair and she is fabulous. Upon booking my appointment she blocked off plenty of time for just me. I've been to places before where I was one of three clients being thrown around. Here I felt like it was all about me and my hair!

Joy is an amazing hair artist. She got my color EXACTLY how I wanted it and made it look so much healthier. I lost a lot of hair after my pregnancy and it was looking rough...but now it looks beautiful again!

The rest of the ladies are fabulous too. Paula did my hair in 2011 for my bridal shoot & wedding and I received so many compliments and people asking me who did it so they could go to her for their wedding hair style.

I am so thankful I came here! They will do your hair how YOU want it - and you'll leave feeling like a Queen and not like you didn't have anything done! :)

I was out running errands the other day and thought I would pop in to get a trim, thinking perhaps finally I could find a good salon in Roxboro to frequent. Hairplay has super cute decor, and when I stepped inside it seemed to be doing a good business. I sat down and expected someone would say something to me - I didn't want to jump in on any of the conversations the ladies seemed to be having with their clients and interrupt!

Five minutes went by... ten... then fifteen. No one greeted me. No one said "sorry, we're booked today!" or "we'll be with you in a few". I think - I THINK - one of the girls might have made very, very brief eye contact with me on her way out to have a smoke with one of the other ladies working there. But seriously, I was in there for a while, just patiently sitting, looking around, texting friends occasionally.. and no one said a word to me! Seriously, if walk-ins aren't welcome, girls, maybe you should scrape off the big "WALK INS WELCOME" decal you have stuck to your door, hmm?
