the pictures of his work are gorgeous and so i booked online and paid my deposit. appt 830 am. he texted at 630 am good morning so i figured we were good to go. his assistant shows up around 835 i approach she sat me down put a cape on me and brushed out my hair. i was getting worried that she was going to do my hair. she must have sensed my concern and let me know he should be there soon. while there i was taking in the atmosphere. dirty for my standards. he needs to throw out the dirty damaged silver velour chair in there it seriously looks like it came from a dumpster all stained and dirty! things could be tidied and sanitized. all latino music on the speaker and it's fine to shuffle it in but not one song after the other. i'm not fluent in spanish so i had no idea what the songs were about and just not relaxing. no beverages offered or available and i was ready to spend a minimum of 250 so i was expecting a bit more luxuries! 925 he still had not showed i made a deposit of 50 to book or i would have left earlier.
10 am he finally texted and apologized and was sincere. i understand things happen and he was very kind about my refund and completed that promptly. he offered to work me in whenever and also offered a free service to me. i am choosing not to partake as i went elsewhere got wine and snacks listened to more modern music with variety in a clean and cute space and paid less than half of what i had planned.
To his credit he is probably a very nice guy that has a talent for balayage which is why i did not give a one star. he handled this mishap professionally so it is not my intent to trash him or leave a horrid review but i am honest and want to let others know so they can choose wisely if they are interested.
