Bunch of frauds! Go there at your own peril. I could not make the appointment with my regular salon and that weekend needed a quick root touch up service. Called them randomly from the web and showed up an hour later. This was only root touch up with a blow dry- no haircut, no deep conditioning none of that. She actually used a flat iron on my hair instead of the blow dry-but I let that pass as I was not going to really go back there. I was charged a 160$ which is way over even what some of the upscale places here charge. When I demanded to see the rate card, she said she did not have any!! Go there at your own peril and if you still do make sure you know what you are signing up for.
One of the worst salons I've ever been to. If you have a groupon they just throw you to some inexperienced stylist which is what happened to me. They add charges to your bill so you end up paying more on top of your Groupon. They made me feel uncomfortable because I had a groupon like I didn't pay for it or something. The stylist was very nice but the lady at the front seemed annoyed.
I had a Groupon for a haircut with deep conditioning and a blow dry. It was a great deal and I was able to get an appointment easily. Admittedly, I was in need of a color, too but didn't want to spend the money or the time, but the stylist talked me into it. (I won't name my stylist because this is someone's livelihood here.) Well, two and a half hours later (!!!) I walked out of there.
But what was worse was that there was a big streak of the hair dye on the back of my sweater. The stylist said she was sorry and then another stylist said "Put hairspray on it... that will get it out." Well, I got home and immediately treated it with stain remover, and it didn't come out. Surprisingly, the stylist followed-up with me a week later and called to ask how my hair color was, and I said it was fine, but it didn't come out of my sweater. She said "oh." I just hung there in the air... crickets. She didn't apologize further. She didn't offer to discount my next service. Just... "oh." So, while my hair did look great -- the time I spent, and the money I spent, and then to have my sweater ruined... I'm not a fan of the Hair After Salon.
Absolutely terrible service. I came in a week and a half ago to color my hair and was told maintenance would be every 5 weeks. It faded in 1 week!! I used color safe shampoo & conditioner, the exact brand of Paul Mitchel that they recommended. They will not fix the issue without charging me because their policy only covers issues in the 1st week.
Pro tip: Never go to this salon if you value your time & money. The fact they tried to nickel and dime me for an issue that was not my fault is disgusting.
BEWARE CONSUMERS- my granddaughter's experience on 1/09/17 should be a cautionary tale for you. I am a professional hairdresser in Michigan and my grand-daughter called yesterday to tell me she was charged $55 to have her split ends cut-that's it- no wash/shampoo, no layering, no bangs, nothing other than the cutting of her split ends. My granddaughter is 18 years old and was charged $20 less last spring for a haircut there but now that she's in college, they charged an extra $20. She's still 18. Businesses should NOT charge extra for being a poor college student? My daughter called The Hair After on the phone to ask questions about the extremely high charge and was told that your age, amount of hair, and level of stylist adjusts how much you pay. What level stylist is needed to cut dead ends? Also, the receptionist was rude to my daughter and accused her of not appreciating the beauty business. I am in that business and I assure you I don't make the equivalent of an attorney. My granddaughter was there for thirty minutes. That equates to $110 an hour! Profits must be really good in Connecticut. I am proud to be a hairdresser but your treatment of my family member really gives us all a bad name. Stop nickel and diming customers and give a decent hair cut for a decent price! $55 for split ends-ridiculous! Establish a fair pricing system!
