$30 for a trim ? Says $12 for a haircut . Took my 14 year old son for a trim , basically took 5 minute to cut off a couple inches . Precede to tell me $30 , whoa ? It says $12 on the window . " yes but he has women hair it cost more " WTF !!! She didn't style it , or even give him a shampoo . Total rip off . Never going back .

I've taken my 12 year old to get his hair cut here twice this year. Usually my husband takes him but he's in the Navy and has been away the past few months. Anyway, he's in that awkward prepubescent stage where he has a normal amount of pimples on his face. (He has the right skin care routine, but he plays baseball and this is expected with puberty). This most recent time, I waited in the car (front row, I could see him sitting in the chair) while she (the co owner) cut his hair because my infant was asleep... He was kind of weird when he came out and had his hood on. I gave him money to pay and tip. He came back out, we left. As we were driving home he told me she kept popping the pimples on his head. On the side of his face, forehead and on his neck. She did this with ungloved hands by scraping her fingernail along his skin. He stated it was very painful. He said he was gripping the arms of the chair because it hurt so bad. He told me there was lots of blood and she used neck paper to wipe it away. She also barked at him and said "these are going to last forever if you don't pop them!" I was truly in disbelief as anyone would agree, it was wildly inappropriate for her to do this to him (or anyone). She is also completely inaccurate about popping them, he has an effective skin care routine at home. Violently popping them as she did can lead to scarring. As far as I am aware, unless she's also licensed in esthetics, it's out of her scope of practice to perform extractions. Either way she should never have done this without my permission, or my sons permission- although he is not old enough to consent. She did not seem qualified, nor was she wearing the proper protection, or using sterilized instruments necessary to do this. I also cringe to think about the clippers going over his bloody head with tiny sharp pieces of his hair (or other people's hair) rubbing into open wounds on his skin. Popping pimples in that kind of a situation can lead to serious infections and woresening eruption zones. There is no way to know where her hands had been, or if they were clean, for all I know she's passing around bacteria and blood born pathogens. I did have his pediatrician look at his skin because of the large risk for skin infection. She gave us some safeguards and signs to look for. This was also ridiculously unsanitary as I don't know what she was doing before handling my sons bodily fluids, I also worry about other bodily fluids she may have handled before his if this is a common practice for her. A few months ago my husband told me that the lady said something about my sons pimples and was telling him how it was because he eats a lot of spicy things- again, there is no truth to her advice as spicy food does not cause pimples. At the time I told my husband that I found that inappropriate and it was probably embarrassing for our son but now, actually popping them is really crossing a line. As a mother, I'm upset that my child was physically violated, embarrassed, and ridiculed. I'm also concerned from a health and safety perspective. Overall, the haircuts aren't consistently great. They charge you more if you don't use cash and the professionalism is highly questionable. I'd give zero stars if it were an option. We will NOT be back.

Found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try because my daughter really needed a haircut and we discovered that HS Salon was closed. The place itself is nothing fancy. It's really a mom and pop shop, and it shows. I get the feeling that Kim does most of the cutting. There was one other customer there, and she was taking a while longer than what Kim had anticipated, so Kim had to go back and forth between my daughter (haircut) and the other lady (perm). I wasn't in a hurry, so I didn't mind, but I can imagine that it would be frustrating for someone else. Also, people kept coming in and asking if she had time, so she must have a solid base of clients. They are just a little bit disorganized. The haircut turned out well, btw. Not sure I would go back again though.

Kids at golf tournament so what to do for 4 hours while they play? Get a haircut. Found this place right down the road. No wait. Love the vibe and the staff are really nice and I love my hubby haircut. They know what there doing here. We passed Sports Clips but we prefer supporting mom and pops shops. Support the local. Although we are from Oceanside now if we're ever down this way. Totally would recommend and come back...

Kim is amazing! I bring my teens here and she always gives them a great haircut. Kim is the best!
