Great Clips in Independence, MO

We took our kids to Great Clips at the recommendation of my sister who brought my nephew and said they did a great job with him. My kids are 2 and 3 years old. My 2 year old sat for his haircut pretty well and they were able to complete his quickly so no complaints there. Jessica was the stylist cutting my 3 year old's hair and I will admit my 3 year old was being a little more lively than my 2 year old. There were multiple times myself and his mother had to remind him that he needed to keep his head still, but he is 3 and was just excited to talk to the woman cutting his hair. She got increasingly more aggravated - which I can understand to an extent because she is just trying to cut some kid's hair she isn't there to entertain my children though I do believe she could show a bit more patience. What really got me was hearing her tell him to stop moving or "she would accidentally cut her finger off". Not something a little less graphic like "I could cut myself" or "get a boo-boo" she went straight for the "I could cut my finger OFF". After that she just got increasingly more agitated with him and you could tell she was just trying to get him out of her chair and took it out on his hair. His bangs look like the results of a Richter scale measuring an earthquake and while we settled on only taking an inch off the bottom of my son's mullet she cut it literally entirely off. Then lastly as we were paying my son asked if he could get a sucker from the treasure box and her response was "Do you think you deserved it?". The only reason this review is 2 stars and not 1 is because the woman cutting my 2 year old's hair was very sweet and did a great job. I do think Jessica could stand to learn a bit of patience as well as how to better speak to someone else's young children.

I'm not even one to normally complain I literally created a Yelp account to leave this review because even after sitting with it I am still not happy with how she chose to speak to my kid as well as how terrible the haircut was. Wish I could find how to post a pic for y'all lol

This is not a 1st visit for this child to this salon. But the stylist was new to us; of an age similar to mine - 50s. It was obvious she wasn't great with children.  The simple task (completely within her scope of credentials) of trimming bangs and hair just past the shoulders (5yo) was too much to ask for. The impatience, you caussed because you sectioned off her hair when it wasn't that deep?? Cut across the length 1/4" and bangs~~(Uugghh)see below. Nowhere near straight, she was being quite still for a 5yo. You tried twisting her bangs to layer? Ruined them, but they growright? We're disappointed clearly but if you don't have the patience for children don't apply for the job!

Great and consistent! The online check-in is great and I never really have to wait very long. I don't ask for a specific stylist because I've never got a bad hair cut here! Shelby, Ciera(probably spelled that wrong), and Sarah(just to name a few) are awesome and always do a great job! We (my kids, wife, me) all get our hair cut here and highly recommend this location!
