Great Clips in Chester, VA

Had a great experience here. The wait for a walk-in was longer then I hoped, but now I know to check-in in advance.

Avoid. Terrible and unprofessional. Take your time and money elsewhere. You deserve better than this circus. I went in today to get 10 inches taken off to donate my hair to locks for love. She (Sharon I believe) somehow messed up from the beginning when cutting the ponytail and completely cut it at an angle leaving me with 3 in. strands in some places and then attempted to blend it. I had plenty of hair to donate and walk away with a shoulder length haircut. Instead, I was still able to donate but my hair is so short and uneven, the exact definition of botched. It took every nerve in my body not to burst out in tears right there. Awful experience from a bunch of pseudo stylists. No idea how they screwed up a simple haircut request. Don't make the same mistake as me- Do not go there.

Lisa gave my son and husband great cuts when our normal stylist who comes to our home couldn't make it due to a family emergency. My husband normally sees Barbara but she was on vacation. Salon was clean. Thank you!

I'm really not sure if Google allows businesses to put in fake reviews or what but I'm glad I finally downloaded Yelp because the star rating on there is much more accurate. This is a clean place from what I could see but I brought my nephew here for a haircut last month and it was overall a poor experience and I regret not walking out in the middle of the haircut due to customer service being terrible. The lady cutting my nephews hair was not only rude to us, she grilled my nephew and used a tone implying he was stupid for not knowing what he was describing was an "asymmetrical cut". Like...? Then she proceeds to wet his hair in order to cut it and I couldn't put my finger on what looked off about his haircut until we got home and it dried the rest of the way. She apparently gave him an asymmetrical Bob cut...a haircut for a little girl. I had to take my nephew to sports clips in colonial heights the next day. Luckily sports clips knew what they were doing and were able to fix it before the school week started.

I signed in online and waited 40 minutes to make my way to the top of the waiting list. At this point, one of the stylist came over to the register and spoke to a man also waiting. She asked his name and realized he had not been checked in. She signed him in and his name appeared fourth on the list. She diddle daddled for a minute and then called on the man to go back. When I spoke up about the waiting list, she said that he had been waiting. I asked to speak to the manager and Beth was very apologetic. She was able to cut my hair after our talk and did a great job! Thanks to her for saving my experience!! Morale of the story: Cutting line is rude and unnecessary. Just ask next time.
