Great Clips in Chattanooga, TN

I must first say I walked in the shop in a bad mood because my barber quit and this was the third place I tried that didn't require an appointment or wanted to charge 30 bucks. I'm very suspect of new places and new people to cut my hair but I gotta say Violet turned all that attitude I had around in like 3 minutes of her seating me.
She did a great job and made me feel better being there and did it all in less than 20 minutes. Violet made me glad I stopped by.

So typically I don't put a lot of time or money into my hair since it does whatever it wants to do anyway. Went to this location and Shelby was my stylist. Hands down the best experience I've had with someone cutting this mess I call hair. She was able to explain to me more in depth why my hair is the way it is, but also she managed to cut it in a way that was the closest thing to what I've been asking for, for YEARS!!!! She kept the length like I wanted, as much as could be kept. She blended it well, and now I can actually run a brush through my hair and style it to be what I want. Shelby, if you're reading this: please don't leave! I'm coming to you every single time. And if you do go somewhere else, please let me know so I can follow!

We had fun and everything  was a good price. Everyone was nice and it felt like a family in there. We checked in online and we were in and out pretty quick.‍

When I first entered Great Clips, I instructed Violet that I only wanted a tiny bit of trim around my ears and my bangs because I would be going to my regular stylist week after next. (My husband was having surgery the next day and I didn't have time for my own stylist.) I repeated the same instructions to her **several times** and even back in the chair after shampooing, I said it again - very firmly. As she began cutting hunks of hair, I told her it appeared not to be a "trim," but she continued cutting. As more and more big chunks fell, I told her I didn't want anymore cut, because she had already done way too much. She insisted (wrongly) she just needed to "even it out" and proceeded to cut more. At this point, I loudly (and frankly even rudely) said, "PUT THE SCISSORS DOWN!" To say this so-called "trim" was a fiasco and terrible-looking is an understatement. Some of what she hacked off was extremely short, while others in the same section wasn't even touched. (To add insult to injury, when she blew my hair dry, I looked like a bale of hay was attached to my head. I had to work with it myself and spray the heck out of it before I dared to walk outside the shop where someone might see me.)

I have called towner of the local franchise, several times and left word to call me back. In fact, even after contacting corporate and them telling the owner to call me, I've still heard zip.  And Great Clips supposedly has a money-back guarantee; it seems to me the shop saves that up-to-$20 guarantee per person if no one in management ever contacts a dissatisfied customer...
(P.S. The owner finally contacted me after over a month and refunded the money. Wonder if anything happened to the "stylist"...)

Fast, fun, knowledgeable, and a great price. I brought my son here first and had a great experience. Then, I came in for myself and had another great experience. It is really hard to find a salon that is consistently good and I have found this one to always be awesome. All the people in here are so fantastic. They always do exactly what I am wanting. They are friendly and have the best attitude. I will definitely continue to come here!
