GIA's Salon & Spa in Richmond, IL

I moved to Richmond from Chicago a couple of years ago and proceeded to find a salon, vet, dentist, tailor, groomer, dog walker and dry cleaners. Gia's is a local business with a nice curb appeal. I made an appointment for a touch up, cut, and manni/peddi. It has a lovely decor - trendy and up to date. What I found odd is that prices for services were not listed anywhere. When I asked about cost, it was written down on a small piece of white paper in pencil throughout the visit. I shared that their services exceeded urban pricing. Yes, lovely. I can afford. Oh, I forgot. When I booked all of these services as a new customer, I was called back to secure them with a credit card for a pre-pay. My stylist did lovely work. However, throughout the visit, our conversation surrounded selling me more product. It was uncomfortable. I go to the salon for relaxation. I attempted to book future appointments; however, the stylist was not available or not available for the time/services I wanted. They tried to sell me other services that fit into the stylist's schedule. Unfortunate. Lovely place with full services. But, over-priced. They need to find a new receptionist who can book services that the customer wants. Ended up at Grand Avenue Hair Club in Fox Lake. My stylist is Mario Tricoci-trained and lovely to work with - a great afternoon at a lovely, full service spa. Priced right -- I obtain my desired services for $150 instead of $300+, and can get them when I want instead of having to arm wrestle an incompetent receptionist to make appointments.

I came here to get some orange out of my hair and a trim. Alexis had no clue what she was doing. They make u sign a paper because she knew she was incapable of handling the job. I felt like I was used as a test client for this chic. $128 bucks later I left lookin worse off. The other lady that does hair was telling her how to cut! Worst $ ever spent

Love going here. Good service, always get what I ask for. I've seen three different stylists and have never been disappointed. Won't go anywhere else!

Love Gia's. I have been coming here for a few years now. They always welcome you with the offer of coffee or water. I am always happy with my haircuts and color. When I decided to go a bit shorter in my hair length, they had great suggestions and I love the new cut. I can't believe how many compliments I received on the cut too! They also offer pedicures, manicures, and massages. If you are looking for a new place then this is the place to come!

Personalized service. These gals make you feel important and Welcome. I've never left disappointed and would recommend the salon to anyone.
