Gel Touch Nail Spa in Carlsbad, CA

Went for a pedi and mani today . Spent 80$ with a generous tip. The lady was kind who did the job but it was really poor quality work . Language barrier is another issue, she could hardly understand me. The salon looks good but so disappointing. My nails are short since I was going on a vacation I went for a nice clean look but honestly felt very upset . I hope they can fix it when I return in 2 days . I would highly appreciate that .So far not recommending this place to anyone.

Would leave a zero star if it was an option. Called and booked a pedicure for my wife and I. We asked for around 4 and were told they could take us at 4:30. We got there a few minutes before our appointment and checked in. We were told they'd be ready for us in a few. Tick tock and nothing. 15 minutes later and we ask if they'd be able to take us soon. They say tell us 5 more minutes. Another 15 minutes and still nothing and nobody working there is even close to finished. The manager never talked to us or apologized the entire time we were waiting. Would definitely NOT recommend. Go to Happiness Nails right up the street. Better people and better service.

I've gotten my nails done at this salon before at least 3 times now and overall, the experience has been poor. The first time I got my nails done at this salon was fine; there were some bubbles under my gel nails but it didn't feel like anything worth complaining about. This is the primary reason this review is two stars and not one - I can tell the owner and the workers are kind, but the service experience has been so poor for me. The second time, I got a gnarly infection on the side of/under one of my nails and used the instruction of my doctor to drain the pus and keep a compress / antibiotic on my finger to ensure that it doesn't get worse. Before the pus developed, my finger was red and very swollen/painful to the touch for a day. I didn't go back because it wasn't a convenient week to do so, and I was now worried that they weren't using clean instruments. The last time I went was the worst. I wanted to have my hard gel nail polish removed, and while the lady doing my nails was kind, she wasn't understanding me when I asked if she could remove the base with acetone rather than using a nail file. She kept pointing to my fingers throughout to show me she was removing it, but because the base was clear I could feel that there were areas she was leaving a thick layer of the hard gel on while the rest of the nail was clean. She placed cuticle oil on me when there was still a lot of hard gel on my nail, so I showed her what she missed and asked her again if she could just use acetone rather than the drill bit file. She went back to the drill bit file, and I felt pain as she was drilling my nails thinner and thinner. She did eventually get the hard gel base off, but she also took off a significant layer of my actual nails. I now have paper thin nails and can't use them for anything, and will need to avoid getting my nails done for a few months while they grow out as strong as they once were. It's now been two weeks since I removed my nails and I have to trim them right at the edge of my nail bed because they split and crack if I let them grow longer, or bend when they come into contact with anything. I used to pride myself on having long, strong, healthy nails and nail beds and I'm mostly writing this review after experiencing frustration with not being able to do simple things, like open my toothpaste, without my nails bending and being in pain.

I had the worst experience here, and super pricey. I paid $75 for a manicure pedicure. I walked in wanting a fill for my tips, I wanted long nails and gel color. I walked out with short finger nails and no color and a very unsatisfactory experience. The tech couldn't figure out my nail color that I wanted and kept going back in forth with me for a color to choose. Although another tech kept telling her which colors to mix. I told her just to do a fill and color she told me we can do a hard gel application on my natural nails and it would be stronger. She than took the color off and cut my nails very short . I asked her why she cut my nails so short? She said because your nails are weak and that I would have to pay for a full set. I said absolutely not, that is not what we discussed. She was very aggressive with me and clearly annoyed with what I was asking her. I expressed to management of my unsatisfied expired and he kept arguing back and forth with me about the price . He said you should have discussed this woth the tech. I walked out with no color which is also included in price. Save your money!!

My lady was quite what I like but it was nice the guy at the front was very kind and they are very clean love my manicure!
