So--I've been going to Garbo for maybe a year and a half. Prior to that, I was a LOYAL Aveda Institute patron, like decades--I figured, help a student out, get a discounted service--everybody wins! (I still recommend the institute for folks who don't mind being in a student-centered, learning environment). That said--Garbo has been a true difference maker. My stylist, Jay, is a consummate professional and just the best for this curly haired chic! Case in point--a while ago I somewhat nervously asked about bangs and after a consultation with him, I said "why not?" ...For all you curly haired folks out there, you KNOW how quickly bangs can go wrong. And--I've got NOTHING but compliments on them. I trust him implicitly and he's done an amazing job gradually lifting my dark brown to a lighter but still warm shade. Muah!

I arrived for my appointment on Saturday 7/15/23 with a new stylist who, as it turned out, had called in sick. (The salon had sent a cancellation text, but I barely look at my phone, so didn't get the text. The notice wasn't sent to my e-mail, though afterwards, the salon made sure my e-mail was the prime notification.) I was peeved at the stylist's cancellation and asked if anyone else could do my hair---and, luckily, the person who ended up doing my hair was Marsha, the salon's founder! I ended up with a great cut (exactly what I wanted). And I very much appreciate the fact that Marsha, the owner, was willing to step in for an absent employee. I could have ended up going home feeling disgruntled about the cancellation, but instead got a great cut from a master stylist. I appreciate the great customer service from this shop.

I love this salon. I used to come here years ago and had a stylist that always did a fabulous cut on my hair. Sadly she moved, so I found someone else several years ago. That person just moved, and I was dreading finding another person, but ventured to try out Garbo again. I met with Brianna and she did an amazing cut on my hair. I have not gotten so many compliments in a very long time. Highly recommend!! Friendly and knowledgeable stylists and staff.

My hair stylist of 16 years changed industries and I was lost in where to go or who to see! I had relied on her expertise for so long that I had no idea there could be so many hair mishaps! Combine that with the timing of going gray! I tried 4 other stylists at 4 other salons who overpromised and drastically underdelivered. I booked with Connie at Garbo on a whim and I'm so happy I did! Connie was honest about what could and couldn't be done to fix my color that was looking less than stellar from my previous experience with other stylists. Connie worked a little magic, had my color, shine, texture looking better than it has in years. The cut is excellent as well. Referred a friend to Connie and she is equally as happy. I only held back one star because the review is for the salon in general and while Connie is 5 star, I feel the salon could make a couple of improvements.
