Upon walking into Galaxy Nails there were 3 employees sitting in the pedicure chairs at the front of the store on their phones. One yelled across the room and said "what do you want"
I asked for a full set of tips. A man of a more mature age told me to sit down and pick a color. I told him I did not want him to use the drill as my nails were paper thin. He insisted that it wouldn't harm my nails. I know that that this is not true as I am a licensed cosmetologist. He didn't know enough English to understand me. And acted like he didn't care. I should have left then, reluctantly I let him proceed. He wasn't paying attention to what he was doing. He glued my nails on crooked and used dip instead of acrylic because I didn't like how thick the buildup is. I asked him to shape my nails so they looked natural and rounded. About 3/4 of the way of him filing them they looked horrid. I finally just asked him to stop. He still charged me $50.
Worst experience at a nail salon.
I do not recommend this place.
Unprofessional, uncaring, dirty salon.
I wonder if this man actually has his license...if he does, it should be revoked.
I requested a full set of acrylic nails and they are not what I asked for, they are crooked and misshaped.
I've been going here for years now. I usually come 2x a year to get my nails done for special events. I've never had this issue, so I was very surprised and saddened by the way they handled things. I took my sister here to get our nails done for our birthday. We both got dip nails with tips. Between both of us, i spent over $160. Within 5 days, i had 3 nail tips come off and my sister had 2 come off as well. We returned and they fixed them for free. The worker that fixed mine said the tips should stay on for a month, then you just get them filled - which is what has happened in the past. By 9 days, my sister had 5 nail tips come off, and i had 5. When we finally had time to go back in and get them fixed (day 13), they said they would not replace the broken tips without us getting them filled - Even though our nails were not very grown out due to having to replace half of them. I have never had so many nails come off so quickly like i did with this past time going here. I am very disappointed with how they handled things. Due to the poor quality and 1/2 of our nails breaking within about a week, i would have expected them to fix them due to the issue being on their part. When they said they will fix them if we get new fills (about $40 each) i told them i would rather go somewhere else since so many broke so fast. No one should pay $160 for nails that only last a week...
Don't go to Kim!! She will up-charge you and is very very rude. She charged me and extra $13 on my fill. After I had asked if there is a fee for fixing my raised 3 nails during the service. When it came to checking out I ask why my bill was $13 more. (I get the same thing every time I know what my total it) she started yelling at me in front of everyone trying to humiliate me for asking for a break down. I have no problem paying for add ons and services. I will not tolerate being ridiculed in front of the whole spa for just asking the break down of my service.
My daughter & I got pedicures! Mine was $30 plus tip and my 8 year old was $18 plus tip. They got us in and out with enough time to be pampered but not too slow.
Cleanliness seems like a priority which is a big one for me. I wish their big screen showed all their offerings (only shows some) but check out the laminated "menu" for pricing and full offerings.
I like that they didn't try to push me to do a bunch of extras like gel or flowers or deluxe packages or tell me that I need a wax job HA! I always find that annoying when others do that so I appreciated that they just let me relax. Will be back!
