It's a great atmosphere, and I'm sure my problem was primarily with the barber Rob who cut my hair. Guy was actually looney, he asked what I wanted for my hair cut, I said a 3 and a half on top with a little extra in the front and the sides to blend in and to shave in a hard part. For context my wedding is next month and I was trying to get my last "trial cut" to lock in my hair for my wedding day.

He laughed in my face and said that he "didn't do numbers" and that no real barber ever should because cutting hair is an "art of feeling the cut" and then grilled me on if I'd ever been to a barbershop before. When I said I frequently went to Salt Lake City barbershop he was stun locked in disbelief and started grilling me on who specifically cut my hair. Supposedly he trained all their barbers and he never taught them to use numbers. Anyways after the pseudo interrogation  he said he was going to do the cut he wanted and that I'd like it.

He then spent the next hour and a half of the  haircut attempting to crack jokes but it really came off as him being mentally unwell. The haircut could have been much shorter had he not of intermittently been hitting on the blond front desk girl. He also mentioned he was grooming the employees at the neighboring mobetta's nearby to make him a fish taco... I guess he brings ingredients by and asks them to use it on his meals, he was bragging about bringing a pineapple and demanding they grill it for his teriyaki chicken. When I didn't respond and just sat there smiling awkwardly he would turn to another barber and do his failed standup routine with them but their body langue and lack of response didn't come off as if they enjoyed interacting with him at all.

On their screens they mention they need employees and are looking for new hires and I vaguely remember Rob saying he was there because it was his buddies shop or something like that.

Overall the atmosphere and facility is nice
And maybe I just got unlucky with the barber I got, but I've never had a haircut experience like that in my life and can't recommend based on my experience.

can we do zero stars?
unprofessional
we walked in mid-week at 2:30 pm
the person at the counter was on the phone for about 10 minutes and didn't even acknowledge us.
then she aid they were all booked until 7 pm, in a snotty tone.
I asked if there were any  stylists in the store and she said no.
we walked out
Evidently we weren't "worthy".

Too expensive for the lack of experience from the barbers. they cut hair, yes.. but at about a $10-$15 level. The price was $25 plus the $5 tip, but the service provided was not worth that price. You can tell the barbers are fresh out of school, the technique proved they have not been doing this long. My basic cut took about 10 minutes total time, my neck was cut, sides were uneven, and the barber did not seem to understand the type of fade I requested.
The shop was very clean, and somewhat professional. appointments are easy to use and worked well. But for the price they charge I could have taken my business down the street to a more experienced shop, and spent the same amount of money for a far more superior hair cut. Bring your kids, or your husband that doesnt really care what his hair looks like cause he wears a hat all day.

I have the strangest hair on the planet and it takes someone with a PhD in hair to figure my hair out. It's thin, but not. The back of my head has two cowlicks, so when it's short it's weird, part of it grows forward then backward again. I don't even understand the word cowlick, it's a weird way to describe strange dna.

I like the tray of candy at GOAT.
I am not a fan of the straight blade neck shaver.

Kayla is my stylist and she has done a good job of learning how to cut my hair and takes great care to make sure I am happy.
