Friends Nails & Spa in North Haven, CT

$29 for a pedicure;there was no hot stone used or oil on my heels. The women doing my feet went to make a phone call and had another women come and paint my nails. The salon was also no the cleanest. I will not be returning.

I came in for a gel manicure and that is what I received.  I checked all the reviews ahead of time and decided to make up my own mind.

First off, the salon was dirty.  Every counter and table was covered in nail dust.  The tables weren't even cleaned off before another customer sat down.  The tools were not sanitized, and carried with each technician in a box from customer to customer.  There was an artificial nail left were I was sitting.  During my manicure, the technician cut my cuticle and did not even apply any antiseptic to it.  She did not clean up the polish around my manicure either, there was some around my cuticles.

The only positives are that their prices are good, and we did not have to wait for an appointment.

I would not recommend.

I recently had a wonderful pedicure and manicure. What amazed me though was that when I accidentally left me wedding and engagement ring there they called my friend who had made the appointment. They told her the rings were there safe and sound! I even think they cleaned them for me. THIS is a business of integrity! It is so rare to find this kind of trustworthiness. Staff is always a pleasure. I get UV gel manicures and Carol always does an excellent job. Wide range of colors and designs. Always walk out satisfied.

Decent enough manicure by the male aesthetician (the husband of the owner, maybe?!), but I felt a bit rushed when the place didn't seem at all busy. My hand massage was suuuuuuuper short and weak at best. I also had a pedicure, and that also was pretty standard, nothing extraordinary or worth a rave review. They don't include any "added-value" items, like a free quick neck massage or an arm massage. Overall, the mani pedis I get in California are WAY better!
