Famosa hair salon is amazing! Everytime I go I end up leaving happy with the end result! All the girls there are amazing at what they do and have a great talent! I do have to mention though, that there is one girl there that I find very obnoxious and rude. I think her name was Jenna. Just the way I heard he talking to her colleagues and some clients was very unprofessional. She does great work but I'll never be booking with her just because of the way she acts. Still wont stop me from going there because the owner is a sweetheart and my hairdresser's amazing talent makes up for it, however I hope she doesn't scare others away.
This is the second time I've been to this salon due to my usual hairdresser being busy, each one I've had a different hairdresser. The first time I got a nice cut and an ok blow-out(some pieces still damp/curly). This time the blow out was awful. If you have curly hair you understand how appreciated a good blow dry is and this was a bad one. My hair was sill damp, had visible frizz and curls and basically looked way worse then if I just saved myself $25(+tip)and did it at home. I can't even believe someone would allow their customer to walk out like that. Women with curly hair - do not go here for a sleek style. My hair is thin too so there's really no excuse why it was still damp and so overall bad looking. I'm not a professional and do a better job on non-paying friends, because I take pride in my work and making someone feel good.
I was having my wedding reception in New Bedford in April. I'm not from the area, and had a difficult time finding salons to do my hair and make-up. A friend who lives nearby recommended Famosa. Nancy, the owner, is super nice and professional. I chose Famosa to do my hair and make-up, as well as, the hair and make-up for 3 of my bridesmaids. McKenzie did our hair and Ashley did our make-up. They did an amazing job and are so nice and fun. We really enjoyed our morning at Famosa and we all received a ton of compliments on our hair and make-up.
