Fakha's African Hair Braiding in Ridgeland, SC

This place is terrible, and keeps messing up my hair. I went in to have my dreadlocks re-twisted and the woman who did it twisted 2 locks together in place of one, and now I have to separate them myself, even though I never once requested this. I don't know if she was just tired or whatever, but this is just, wtf. And this is the second time this has happened to me at this salon. The workers are extremely rough on your head to where your scalp is burning from the pain. Not only did I have to pay this POS place 65 dollars to do an awful job, I now have to do more work than I'm supposed to. I would never recommend anyone go here, please save your coins and look elsewhere.

Always reliable great service and people the work is really good too. The hair is included. They work really fast. Think about it by the time you buy the hair and drive somewhere  else you are already paying what you pay here and they take less time

First I arrived 10 mins early and was told they did not have the hair, so I will need to go get the hair from a store 20 mins away. When I returned with the hair I still had to was 2 hours for her to finish another customer. When I told her that I made my appointment early because I have to work later, she wanted me to leave the hair I purchased with her and we can reschedule. I told her that I paid for this hair and was not leaving it.  She then offered me $20 off to wait 1 hour til she was done. The braids that were done were decent. I did instruct her to leave my edges out but she did not. I have already lost 7 microbraids and it has only been 2 days. The shop is outside of beaufort and on the highway.  They need to do some serious cleaning. There was weave and trash all over the floor and they have a large flat screen TV sitting in a chair. There was no attempt to make the customers feel comfortable. The braiders watched loud African YouTube videos, yelled at each other and on the phone the entire time.Then there were children running around and begging for food and candy. If you really badly need your hair braided come here, but I will from now on be going to Savannah or Charleston.

They do a great job with braiding, but it's not the most sanitary place. People are usually talking on the phone while doing your hair, or stopping to talk. However, the job gets done in a timely manner with great end results.

I was very disappointed with the people here.  They were first of all almost 45 minutes late for my appointment. When they finally did get there they told me that we had to wait for the beauty supply store to open because they didn't have the hair for the braids. I had to purchase the hair and they still wanted to charge the full price without taking into account that I purchased the hair that was supposed to be included in the price. She finally agreed to change the price but it was ridiculous that it was even a factor. I will just drive to Savannah the next time I want my hair braided. I will never go back here again.
