Evolutions Salon in Pasadena, CA

I've been going to Rachel for years and absolutely love her. I recently went back to her at Evolutions salon and I love it here. Rachel in particular has consistently given me exactly what I have requested. My hair has actually become healthier over time. The salon is very organized and the staff was super friendly and inviting. great experience.

Been coming here for at least six years. This place used to be better. The woman at the front desk did not seem interested in helping me. My stylist did not shake my hand or tell me her name. She also used a flat iron on my hair, which I have not done for over 10 years and she did not even ask me how I wanted my trim to be styled. Then my stylist walked away without even saying goodbye. No mention of what products she used on me or what I could try. Strange experience, and I think I'll be finding a different salon now.

Update:) I got a blowout for an important event tonight and Rachel did an absolutely beautiful job. Definitely recommend her!!

I've been going to Evolutions salon for about three years now and Audrey is the only one trust to do my highlights. This time I went in for a root touch up because my highlights were way past due as well as a hair cut since I've been wanting layers and wanted to try something new. I told her the look I was going for and she knew exactly what I wanted and did just that. She also made sure to tone my hair exactly the same as before since I loved the color and made sure to minimize where she was adding bleach so my hair wouldn't get damaged. She's always very careful and meticulous and knows exactly what she's doing so I've never had to worry. I absolutely love how it turned out and she makes great conversation so I always look forward to coming in to see her. Always recommend!

I'm not into ruining anyone's livelihood so I'll leave names out of this but I will say I would not recommend this salon. One reason: front desk unable to match stylist to customer appropriately when given exactly what customer says they need. When you ask for someone with experience and get the newest stylist due to needing to give her a client it won't usually end well. "They're all great" is not true here. Owner should train. They'll just keep getting one time first clients and not keeping any regulars. Front desk staff was rudest I've ever seen and I'm really low maintenance.. And then there was the fact that I got the worst color I ever have. The color was done twice because the stylist didn't understand that the root needed to be toned differently than the rest due to lighter root. She just added the same color again. It wasn't stubborn. The grey was covered. The result is hot orange roots. Cut was done in about 4 snips and although ok it was far from what I was asking for. I was hoping to find a stylist I would use regularly. I will never return here.
