Essence Nails & Spa in Lawton, OK

I've tried like 4 or 5 salons in Lawton and Elgin and this is the best one, especially for women in the military. Lisa did this set, but I've had a few different people and they've all done a great job. It's never along wait, I always do a walk in. They last longer, are not ever bulky, always even. Just very happy with them

I went to a different salon to begin with and saying my nails were horrible is an understatement. I was able to come in here 24 hours later and I was taken care of. The salon is clean and has a calming atmosphere without the hustle and bustle of others. They listened to what I wanted and provided it an then some. My nails are beautiful and have found my home spot. Loved everything about my visit!!

Calm atmosphere, great owners that are dedicated to doing an excellent job on your brows ,lashes, mani-pedi, or waxing. Don't let the old owners fool ya, this is not them and is legit!!

So to start they fit me in and I only had to wait 20 minutes which didn't seem to bad considering they were very busy. I appreciated that.
I had someone start my full set, and then without telling me anything she moved back to another customer and had me sitting for at least 15 minutes. I had a reference photo which I will add below. She said she could do it. When I got switched to an older lady I showed her what I wanted. She asked me to pick out the colors so I did, but I told her I couldn't find a glitter one that matched what I liked and asked her to pick. She picked something very off but I liked it so I said yes.
While she did my nails she made 6 out of the 10 of my fingers bleed which has NEVER happened to me before. I have never been in pain during a nail appointment. As she kept nicking my skin, I would jump and she never even apologized. When I went to wash my hands blood was pouring out of my pinky. When I came back to her she noticed and put some blue liquid that stopped the blood, at this point my fingers especially my pinky was throbbing with pain. She continued to roughly buff my nails, and also cut two of my nails funky but I didn't complain. I get coffin is harder. When she began painting my nails the reference photo I showed her had a matte finish. She tried to start decorating without putting the matte so I nicely asked. After some searching she got the matte. When she came back she painted my nails with the cover, and then started struggling with decorating. The flakes were nice but she didn't put a top coat on so now only two days later the flakes are almost completely gone, the gold lines were placed and she couldn't get them to stick at all. Again nothing over top to help it stick so those have fallen off as well.

She went to do my other hand and I had to remind her again to do the matte topping first which she wasn't going to do. I shouldn't have to remind her, and she tried to put the wrong stuff on the wrong finger and I had to pull my finger back and give her the right one.

I obviously paid for the decorations and for them to last two days is ridiculous. The pain I experienced was also ridiculous and I would never come back here simply for her. Which sucks because everyone else was nice and they have great reviews. She needs to know to apologize when she is hurting someone especially when I am visually uncomfortable. I even tipped her though so I didn't take anything out on her but I won't be back. Just giving feedback.

Kayla is amazing.  I've been going to her for several years and followed her to Essence.  I'm not sure how business was before, but with the new management, you won't be disappointed!
