Envy Nails and Spa in Kansas City, MO

I like this place because it's within walking distance; however, the times that I've been have been pretty disappointing. My most recent visit, my gel manicure is peeling off after 10 days, nails aren't filed to the same length, and no after care treatment. I should've known better as I went on a busy and rushed Saturday.

I'm sad I can't leave 0 stars. I've tried this place multiple times because it's close to home but every single time I leave disappointed. Today I had an apt and was promised I'd be ready in time for an important interview. I got there 5 mins late & the mail tech was not busy with a customer- instead she went to the back and finished her phone call for 15 mins while I waited. When she came out she asked me what I wanted when I already mentioned I want a basic short French tip with dip powder 4 different times. Then she told me okay I can do that but you won't be out of here in a hour. Keep in mind at this point I've already been waiting for her to finish her phone call. I'm so upset because now I'm leaving with no nails done and going to an event with nothing on my nails all because I chose this place vs driving 5 mins out the way to the next salon.

Also this isn't the only incident it was just my cherry on top to why I won't be back. The last lady who did my nails took 3 hours on my basic French tip set, the time before the lady added all kinds of weird prices to my total that didn't make sense and then the time before I had an apt and waited nearly an hour. I've literally never been served fairly here and it's upsetting because again I've tried to give them chance after chance. Save your money & time go down the street to sassy nails they are 10 times better at providing services in a timely manner

Disappointing and Unhygienic Nail Salon Experience

I recently visited  Envy Nails And Spa with high hopes, armed with a reference photo to ensure I'd get the perfect nail design. Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Despite showing the photo to the technician and explaining what I wanted, they failed to recreate the look I was aiming for.

To make matters worse, during the manicure, I was accidentally cut by the technician. What was most concerning was that they didn't even clean the cut or take proper precautions to address the situation. It left me feeling uncomfortable and worried about the lack of hygiene and safety practices at the salon.

Moreover, my disappointment didn't end there. To my dismay, my nails barely lasted a week before chipping and showing signs of wear. This short-lived durability was truly disappointing, as I had expected my manicure to last for at least a couple of weeks.

I understand that sometimes things may not turn out exactly as planned, but the lack of attention to detail and the inability to follow a clear reference photo left me dissatisfied with the results. A nail salon's expertise lies in bringing customers' visions to life, and sadly, this was not the case during my visit.

On a positive note, the staff was friendly and welcoming, but the overall experience was marred by the lack of skill, attention to customer requests, and most importantly, proper hygiene practices.

I hope that the salon management takes this feedback constructively and addresses these issues to provide better service to their clients in the future. As a result of this disappointing and unhygienic experience, I'm hesitant to return to Envy Nails And Spa, and I will explore other options for my nail care needs.

I called ahead to ask what the wait time was for a pedicure and was asked how soon could I be there. When I reply 10 min they reply with: "great see you then!" I make my way over and it's all street parking, I lap the block, find a spot and walk over. It's not busy but busy enough to where everyone is with a customer and after introducing myself as the person who called 10 min ago, I still end up waiting 15 min. This isn't a deal breaker because I get what this industry is like having worked in it for 10 years. I pick my color and scroll on my phone as I wait.
When I'm finally gestured to a chair, I'm asked to put my feet in water without first removing the polish. Not a huge deal but I peep game- they get your feet in water so you don't leave. I wait another 10 min. Finally a tech comes over to ask which pedicure I want- I basically just want a color change so I get the first one- nothing fancy, basically an "express pedi". She gets to work and everything is fine until she gets the cheese grater out and I say nope I don't want that used. Most places will recommend a foot scrub or other physical exfoliator. Lotion is applied and painting begins. Great job with the polish, they look decent, but I'm literally typing this review as I'm asked to wait here for them to dry. HOW IS THERE NO PLACE FOR ME TO DRY MY NAILS?! I understand gel polish is the go to nowadays but seriously? It's been 30 min so this is ridiculous, and I'm paying and leaving.
The two stars is for the end result, place is clean and bright and polish selection is great. However- No, I DO NOT recommend this business because it's essentially a chop shop where it's a one size fits all. I understand being busy and needing to move on but it's the disregard for customers time for me. Look elsewhere!!

They did a fantastic job with my dip nails (with tips) and my pedicure. Sometimes when I get tips done they put them on a bit crooked or not flat with my nail but they did a great job and really took their time with my manicure and pedicure. I would highly recommend.
