So I am updating my review. While I had described what I wanted which was just a few chunks of bayalage blonde in my hair, what I got was totally different. My hair was foiled and it completely changed the style, the texture and the tone of my hair. The style was not what I wanted - I had not wanted a foiled look and was very specific about what I wanted. Also, the stylist over-processed my hair. The highlights were bleached white (naturally dark brown), so she tried to tone it down and put a darker toner over it. Problem was, she put a gold tone and also a brownish tone in my hair - somehow resulting in a grayish-greenish orange tinge. My hair now is super dry and just kind of destroyed. It was long and healthy and now I keep cutting off parts of it to get rid of the damage. Not sure why someone with so much experience would let that happen. I know mistakes happen but I feel she should have been honest that she made a mistake and then asked me what I wanted to do. Then maybe I could have just covered it over in brown or just kept it bright and put a nice toner in. Instead I don't think she knew I noticed the mistake and she tried to hide it. Now I am spraying my hair every day with leave-in conditioner and threatening my husband that I may chop all my hair off because the texture is like cotton candy. Here's another tip: Don't pressure your clients into a Yelp review when know you over-processed their hair.

I have been going to Sarah for several years. She does an amazing job with my highlights and cut. She listens to her clients to understand what their hair style preferences are. I always walk out of the salon feeling fabulous!

Like all of us at one time or another I was ready for a new hair stylist. I pulled up Yelp reviews for salons near me and discovered Empire at Fair Oaks mall had some great comments. I immediately headed over and asked if anyone was available to cut my hair. That was my lucky day! Sarah happened to be available and I needed a makeover! Sarah suggested a great new look and spent time explaining how she would angle my hair to best frame my face. She carefully cut my hair making sure everything was even. It was the best cut I'd had in a long time and I got dozens of compliments. I've continued to return on a monthly basis and know Sarah will always deliver!

Empire hair salon is definitely the place to go for highlights, coloring jobs, and haircuts. Sure they're pricey but it's totally worth it, you will definitely be getting your money's worth. I recommend Trisha for coloring and/or any type of hair highlighting.

Finally I have found a stylist that listens and respects my time and my hair! Sarah took her time to explain exactly what her hair goals for me are and it is very much appreciated. I had taken some time away from salons during the pandemic and this first experience back was the best cut and color ever. Sarah the stylist made me feel gorgeous. She explained everything she was doing every step of my highlighting and cut process. She was funny, pleasant and caring. After she was done I was overwhelmed with joy. I felt like a new sassy woman. My hair looks incredible. The blonde highlights are magical and I swear the cut makes me look at least 5 years younger. I can't wait to go back to see Sarah and brag about how much my husband loved the upgrade. Overall, a wonderful experience from start to finish. Thank you Sarah for saving my neglected hair! Woohoo
