Edge Salon in Grand Rapids, MI

I LOVE The Edge Salon! I've NEVER had a problem with ANY service I've had through Edge. I've received so many compliments on my hair; cut style or color since going to The Edge and I don't intend to go anywhere else! Gene uses Goldwell Salon Hair Color Products in his salon, plus others, but Goldwell primarily! He's smart, capable and extremely knowledgeable on hair care & proper ways to do all things hair! His knowledge on all things beauty industry is astonishing, in an amazingly good way! He's not to be missed if you have questions on his knowledge of the business! He'll pass any test! if always give him 5 Stars!

Gene is, quite simply, the ONLY person who has been able to handle my thick and unruly hair in years. I get so nervous about seeing a stylist and often go long periods of time without hair help. As a result of that, plus quarantine, my hair was in major need of assistance. I booked Edge Salon after a long period of combing through Google searches and reviews (yes, the pun was intended) and I finally made the choice to book here. I won't go anywhere else as long as I live in Grand Rapids! I felt like I had come to visit a friend as we chatted away and he helped me choose what it was I needed and wanted for my new hair. I am unbelievably happy with my cut and it feels a billion times healthier! If you are looking for a new place to get a cut, color, highlight, or WHATEVER you need - look no further!!! Call Gene immediately!

Gene is soo good. He creates an environment where one feels comfortable getting their hair wet, and stepping before the shears .. not quite knowing what the outcome may be. He has the artful skill of hair design and sensitivity to the human spirit. Conversation was fresh, and he knows how to offer just enough. I am happy with his work and glad I met him.

I was in town for a wedding and stayed at the Hampton Inn. I wanted to get a manicure beforehand, so I googled for salons near the hotel and The Edge was close. Just a short walk across a parking lot. It was $25 for a basic manicure, which I thought was reasonable. The salon had a stylish and warm atmosphere. They have a table with coffee, tea, bottled water and snacks as soon as you walk in the door. There was also a coat tree for my jacket, a schnauzer to greet me, and several comfy chairs to wait for my appointment. Tish, the manicurist was very friendly and accommodating, even when I asked to see several different colors. She was very skilled, and did a great job on my nails. They looked great. There was a parade on Michigan Street that day, so some of the staff had their kids at the salon that day. They weren't disruptive at all. In my opinion, it leant homey, familiar feeling, which I liked.
