Dotty Pet Grooming Salon in San Antonio, TX

This was the our first grooming experience (other than nail trimming) at this place. I had an appointment set for today Friday at 11am. When I dropped my dog off I asked how long they'd take and the gentleman told me 3hrs (not the 4-5hrs that was just posted on social media). If I knew the real time frame I would have hesitated to leave my dog there. I know this is not a one dog facility and it takes time to get around to all the dogs. Since i was told 3hrs I was ok with that as I am very aware they are not a kennel free facility either. I got to the groomers about 3hrs later to find out my dog wasn't ready. I asked how much longer it was going to take, while I waited Mariana told the lady in the back in Spanish to start on my dog. I also know Spanish, I questioned about my dog barely getting her services done. They just said they are to start and she's be done in about hour and a half or two. I was in shock so I went outside. I could not believe my dog had just been sitting there in a kennel for the full 3hrs. When asked about the appointment Mariana mentioned they were behind due to a groomer not being there today. Very understandable but why was this not communicated to be to begging with. I know things happen that is out of everyone's control but all it would have taken was a phone call/communication. I went back in there and asked to take my dog home, I was in tears as my dog is my baby! Mariana was so rude, didn't even bother looking me in the eye, didn't get any sort of apology either, just told me to take my dog.

She hurt my friends poor puppy! Cut her & had the nerve to give a wack A*** apology & didn't even try to make things right. 10/10 don't recommend. Here's the photos to show it progressively got worse. Poor baby had to go to the vet. Which she (the groomer) should absolutely pay the bill for but of course she will not and deny and block everything. Poor baby will not eat, won't let anyone near her or anything. She is traumatized! After years of going to her you'd think she'd have the decency to make things right.

Very nice establishment. Employees are very nice and helpful. They helped me bring in my dog cause I can't handle him due to my disability.

We have been taking our Shih Tzu mix to Dotty's for three years. We have had nothing but wonderful service there. Both the owner and the other groomers are kind to the dogs and do a great job. We are happy to continue taking our dog to them for his grooming every 7-8 weeks. He always comes home looking and smelling terrific, and very happy.

Scary traumatized experience will forever be scarred. Read all the other horrible experiences. Rude combative owner and owners husband. No professionalism. Dogs getting cut. One dog died while there. List goes on. I read reviews on Facebook & Instagram that are deleted. Be aware.
