Currie Hair Skin & Nails in Kennett Square, PA

The atmosphere has changed in the past six months. Recently, I've been in a couple times and have noticed that the manager Erica has not been dressing appropriately. The dress attire has been very casual Adidas slides. Is this becoming a hair Cuttery or super clips?

I like this salon. Here are my observations, it is small and intimate, clean and well organized. It has a full service with aestitician services, nail services in addition to the all important hair services. It is my understanding that at his other salons, additional benefits are provided. I am limiting the scope of this review to this salon only. My hair stylist, Lindsay, is quite talented and prompt . I do not like to wait for a stylist in that I believe it diminishes the experience. I appreciate the fact that she books enough time to service all her clients without making them wait. She is attentive as far as the process and is pleasant. The services at the salon do not come inexpensively, however. I believe one wears their skin and hair every day so I am willing to pay for that. I have also used the services of the aestitician and can wholly recommend those services too. The inconvenience of this salon is its size and parking in Kennett. You are limited to the parking lot behind the salon and the street. Both require you to pay. Bring quarters. Finally, another positive is the support staff at the front desk. Both Erica and Vivian are lovely.

Haircut and color were always 'okay', but, in my opinion, this particular salon is kind of overrated. I wanted to be fair and give it a chance though since I had gone to the Currie years earlier in Glen Mills and loved it and my stylist there, so I went here a few times before deciding it just wasn't for me. The stylist was good and she did seem to listen to my concerns. One of the biggest issues I had was with the price paid for what I was getting and also the reception staff. Not friendly or welcoming, actually seemed to be on the snobby side. Come on girls...smile and act like you are happy to see customers! Parking is convenient in the parking garage and the salon itself is clean.

I came in to get my nails done. The lady who did them was super nice, but she couldn't do exactly what I wanted because they didn't have a specific color. Additionally, some of my fingers have an uneven French manicure tip. It wasn't very noticeable, and part of that is because my nails were too short, so it wasn't a big deal. I think the prices are just overrated here. It is definitely a high-end salon, but I wasn't wowed with my experience. There is metered street parking available, as well as a parking garage about a 3-main walk away. The facility is clean and well-lit. Still, there is nothing inherently wrong with my visit and I wouldn't return because of the high prices, but it is a good salon.

By far the absolute worst experience I have had with what is supposed to be consider a high quality salon. I stopped in to make an appointment since I work nearby. They said Victoria is available now. I was thrilled to get an immediate appointment. I should have turned around and walked away. Absolutely the worst cut I have ever had.
