Rilie did my hair and make up for my wedding day and did an amazing job. I do not wear every day make up, so it was incredibly important that I still looked and felt myself and she killed it. My only request for my hair was a low bun with curled pieces. I had so many compliments!!

She arrived early and we were all ready way ahead of time.

Cru confirmed with me at the time of my booking and one day prior to my event. With short notice (2-3 hours), someone from the company messaged me that my makeup artist was sick and that there was no backup for my appointment, which left me scrambling without makeup. Unprofessional.

Unorganized and outrageously expensive.

We looked into Cru due to a suggestion on The Knot. My goal was to have my tattoos covered for my wedding. We sent them pictures of my tattoos (which take up nearly my whole left arm) and they quoted us $100 for our one hour trial (they also said it would take about 2 1/2 hours to cover all the tattoos).
On the DAY of the trial, they asked for pictures of tattoos to be covered and then stated that they didn't realized there were so many and that they hadn't received photos before. They also stated that because there were so many "additional" tattoos the trial would be approximately $300.
We immediately sent them receipts of our prior text messages and we had in fact shown them pictures of my ENTIRE arm.
They had me sign a contract for the trial, but it was impossible- the website was hard to use and I went back and forth with them for about a week just trying to sign the contract.
Despite the $300 trial and contract fiasco, I decided to give them a go anyways and went to the trial. While the MUA I was paired with did a good job, she only accomplished getting through about 1/4 of the tattoos to cover in an hour and said that day of, it would take approximately 6 hours to cover. (Remember that my contact previously they said it would only take about 2 1/2 hours). I knew ultimately it would take longer but they're the experts so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. So it appears that the people who make the appointments do not communicate with the MUAs nor have a good grasp on how long things will take.
If my one hour trial was $300, imagine how much I'd be paying for six hours of makeup.
In addition, they indicated that I'd also have to pay a travel fee for the MUA, but that travel over 2 hours would also require you to house the MUA for the night. Which would generally be fine, except that they paired me with an MUA who lives CLEAR down in Colorado Springs, whilst my wedding was on the northern end of the state. Why wouldn't they pair me with someone who lived closer to the area I was looking to get services in?
Ultimately the combination of six hours of makeup at whatever outrageous cost, PLUS the cost of travel, PLUS the cost of hosting the MUA for the evening, I ultimately decided not to book.
They sent me a text message a few weeks before my wedding asking if I still wanted services, and that if I did not reply within a specific amount of time, I'd ultimately lose my spot. I did not reply; thus assuming they'd understand that I didn't want to book.
I wasn't going to post a review; I figured I'd just let it go, but then the messages just kept coming. Even though I'd passed their deadline to book, I received messages the week of my wedding, and have gotten them every other week since.
I'm comfortable with my decision to ultimately not book, because this tells me not only are they way overpriced, but they're not competent. If they were organized, wouldn't they know that my wedding was over a MONTH ago?! They should have taken that information and made note of it when I first contacted them.
Outrageously expensive, unorganized, and relentless in trying to get business. Feels almost desperate and their MUAs deserve better.

Dont go to Crú! They canceled our contract just 4 days before our wedding and have not returned any of our money after breaching our contract. They will hire any bum off the street to do your hair. My Fiance who has beautiful curls like the ones pictured was told that her hair needed to be straightened before it could be worked with. The only kind of artists these people are, are scam artists. If you are looking for sub-par work with a side of unprofessionalism you have found the place. Good luck!

I really wanted to like this place but I had a horrible experience. I don't recommend this place and I definitely don't recommend their services.I booked a makeup and up do several months in advance so I can have time to plan for a special event. I showed up on time--to see no one was at the location. I had to wait almost 20 minutes for someone to come and open up the place. I had included several pictures of what I was looking for and uploaded them to my "client portal" . I felt rushed, and I felt like she was absolutely brand new .. or she hated me . I gave her all the time she needed- even greatly going over the time I had for my event.. causing me to rush through horrific traffic . When she was  done I though maybe its just bad lighting and I could be ok once I step outside. I literally sat in my car for about 15 minutes and started to cry. I have NEVER in my life seen such a horrible job on makeup! I think I did better makeup when I was  12 years old! My hair looked like trash, she literally didn't listen to me at all with the style I wanted and my face was shocking. My husband planned a beautiful romantic evening for us both, and I was so upset we cancelled. He couldn't believe how awful my makeup looked. He thought my hair was appropriate for a half -hippie who is trying to look polished. I think thats a fair assessment of how I felt. My husband said I should call the owner and demand at least half my money back ( I believe with tip and everything I paid almost $400)
Unfortunately, I just felt the need to shower, wash everything off. My husband was very understanding and he reassured me that this is just how low quality Denver is. I can't disagree
